I started hitting the sales early this year—symptom of covering shopping as a career—which means a good number of my orders have already arrived as discount season rages on.
The things I bought that haven’t arrived yet, namely a pair of earrings and a duchess satin jacket from Sandy Liang, underpriced The Row Gala pants on The RealReal, and a pair of Carter Young slacks on the advice of Louis’ men’s sale roundup, will no doubt trickle into my outfits and thus this newsletter. But in the meantime, I wanted to share a few good gets while the prices are hot (It is Cyber Monday after all…the most vaporwave of the named sale-season days.)
If you, like me, are stillll open to being seduced by a compelling enough deal on a great piece of fashion, a heads up that I’ll be adding to the deals spreadsheet for one more day (and am also sharing updates on new/increased sales in our Substack chat).
Martiniano Party Heels: Bought from Tangerine for $380 despite their usual list price being $545 (not advertised as a sale for some reason, but still priced that low). I’d been itching for them for…years? But especially so after combing the brand’s online sample sale and wondering why I didn’t own my platonic ideal of a white heel, which is my platonic ideal for footwear at large.
Similar on sale: Various Martiniano styles for 25% off at Nonna (sale ends today) / Martiniano Pewter Boots, $284 $568 / CO V-Neck High Heel Pump in Smooth Leather, $239 $795 / Repetto White Camille Heels, $332 $425
Donni Flannel Shirt Jacket + Flannel Simple Pant: Admittedly not on sale, but this set stopped me from spending a hell of a lot more on The Row’s $1,250 cashmere Gala pants and $1,650 Komako shirt (the Donni set by comparison is $541 all in). There is a generous sale happening over at Donni that takes 20% off nearly everything else, and, if you haven’t made use of it yet, there’s a 10% incentive off your first order for signing up for the newsletter.
Similar on sale: Comme Si’s pajama sets come to mind, and while they’re not technically on sale, you can buy them as a proper gift set and get a free pair of socks with purchase until the end of the day (or you can buy the excellent flannel shirt and boxer-pants for a sight savings at $470).
Fane Bra Bag: After firmly establishing my beige Fane Bra Bag for unwavering everyday use over the past year and change, I’d made the case to myself for a second. Fane was one of the brands I was most excited to have participating in the Magasin Private Sale (they really never offer discounts), offering 20% off a selection of bags to paid subscribers. I got the Nuit Calf for $488 compared to its usual $610.
Similar on sale: The shape and size of my original Fane bag is what inspired me to buy The Row’s Dalia earlier this year—here’s a white version on resale for almost $700 off, and here’s my burgundy colorway at a slight $100 discount.
Neous Nekkar Heels: I am very noisily a ride or die for Neous, whose 25% off sitewide sale is still running with SECRETSALE25. The code took about $200 off these chocolatey heels.
Similar on sale: The white version is going for even less on Olivela where they’re $477; there’s also a healthy cache of Neous going for up to 70% off at SSENSE.
Fforme Anya Knitted Leggings: Fforme’s has to have been one of the only true doorbusters of the week, where markdowns are (still!) reaching 75% off, especially when combined with the extra discount in the Magasin Private Sale (additional 20% off, also still going!). These silk-blend leggings—which I knew I’d love the feel of because I have the long-sleeve top version, worn here—went from $1,500 all the way down to $300.
Similar on sale: Sticking with Fforme for a second because it’s so good, the Zoe leather jacket I bought at the end of summer is down from $4,900 to $1,225 (or $980 if you use the code from the MPS).
Maryam Nassir Zadeh Cantina Slide in Puglia: I found a last pair of these in Nonna’s sale section just as the store was launching its 25% off sitewide code and paid $188 all in. They’re sold out now, though the sale is still on til tonight. I found a size 36 for $303 on Garmentory, a size 11 for $222 on Yoox (offering an extra 25% off all orders today), and sizes 39-40 for full price at Bona Drag.
Similar on sale: These shoes may be gone from Nonna, but there’s still a bunch of sale-on-sale MNZ; MNZ on SSENSE is up to 70% off; Maison Rogue’s tiered sale goes to 40% off even full-price MNZ if you spend $550+; and naturally, there’s Maryam’s own sale to comb through.
Lemaire Black Asymmetrical Bathrobe Coat: I didn’t buy this for Black Friday or on sale, but considering it’c become my one and only winter look, I feel morally obligated to share that it’s 20% off on SSENSE’s Private Sale.
Similar on sale: The incredible Saville Row tailoring house Arnys (bought by LVMH and reopened under the Berlutti name) is one of my regular resale hunts—it tends to retain a high value, so I was excited this morning to find this alpaca wool coat that seems women-sized for $558; and a men’s wool Auralee coat is 40% off on SSENSE.
Rixo Zenni Beaded Bucket Bag: It’s already a good deal for a party season bag at $165, but a sale this week brings it down to $132. I hate this cliché, but it really does “look more expensive than it is.”
Similar on sale: Not on sale, but both under $200—COS’ take on the Teckel bag for $170, and Casa Ayllón’s pouch for $192 (their sale just ended), each solid party bags in their own respects.
