238: These Studio Nicholson pants wrecked my inbox

Irregularly scheduled outfit credits.

RIP my inbox. I posted a fit check in a pair of Studio Nicholson pants and got flooded with dozens if not actually hundreds of DMs. I did my best to get back to everyone, but then the credit requests for the Flore Flore tank and the ATP shoes and the Jeanerica shorts started rolling in, and I accepted defeat. If anything, it was a good reminder to publish one of these unscheduled outfit roundups I established in the Magasin repertoire with this post from April.

Where I wore it: To appointments in the city. I went uptown to preview Emilia Wickstead and then swung by VSJ’s showroom to see the new By Malene Birger (brilliant things coming from both, I can’t wait to share more). On my way out, the elevator operator told me to make a run for it, so I booked it to the train station just in time. On the other end, I hiked my jacket up over my head and sprinted between scaffolding covers through torrential downpour to the Judd Foundation where I’d scheduled an inspiration tour.

Where I wore it: Twice, actually. Once to lie out in Fort Greene park, and again on my flight back from Stockholm. I’m a little bit addicted to this outfit—the material of both the shirt and these boxer-style pants is a tightly woven poplin with an inexplicably creamy feel to it. Not dry and crispy like hotel sheets, but plump and touchable like fresh fruit skin. I’m not trying to be poetic here, this cotton just defies traditional descriptors!

Where I wore it: In the RAIN to get my HAIR DONE. Can you think of anything more distressing? Luckily, my appointment at David Mallet’s studio in Soho was in the same building as the event I was headed to next—the launch of a French Bloom collaboration at The Webster. All was right and good in the end.
