424: Unboxing day
All (most of) my Black Friday buys.
Yesterday I asked a bunch of people what they bought for Black Friday. Here’s what I bought. (If you don’t want to try on all of your new purchases right away, all at once, you should probably return them.)
I’m still waiting on my orders from Brooke Callahan (wool side-tie pants I bought through Magasin’s own Private Sale) and 6397 (a sporting jacket and sandy jeans—still on sale here). And whether this is all I’m buying this sale season is yet to be determined!
But here’s everything so far.
Arc’teryx Cerium Vest, $210 $300
Had been on my watch list for about a year, but what tipped me over recently was getting this Lemaire duffle jacket and realizing it’d be perfect underneath for the coldest days. I’d even checked in on the vest ahead of Black Friday and was stressed that I didn’t see it in stock anymore. BF rolled around and it came back, and it was 30% off.
Seen here with: Kye Intimates Recline Pant, $115 / Phoebe Philo Gathered Flat, $890

&Daughter Beige Balla Slouch V-Neck Sweater, $432 $480
Only a 10% discount (is that even anything, anything at all??), but I would happily pay double for this touched-by-god sweater. I’m also seeing the Balla sweater priced elsewhere at $615 (unsure why its retail price is listed so low at SSENSE), making it effectively 30% off.
Seen here with: Sea Lenore T-Shirt, $195
Boll & Branch Percale Hemmed Sheet, $224 $299 + Duvet Set, $284 $379 with CYBER25
This is the only bedding I use anymore: white signature percale from B&B so I never have to keep track of sets or end up with mixed shades of white on my bed at once. It’s soft, taut, and cool. And it’s still on sale (some of the site is up to 50% off).

Vintage Antonella Valsecchi for Bergdorf Goodman Rabbit Fur Coat, $400
I know I already went off about vintage furs, but I think I’m getting quite good at spotting the quality ones (modern fit, good condition, the right leopard spot pattern). Here’s an excellent swing-length one, here’s a longer version, and here’s one identical to the one from my TRR watchlist that sold overnight.
Seen here with: Enza Costa Soft Cotton Cap Sleeve Crew Top, $125 / Collen Allen Cotton Dance Pant, $520 / Martiniano Black After Party Heels, $251 $454
Maximum Henry Wide Standard Belt, $160
The 30% off sitewide sale sadly ended yesterday, just in time for me to nail down this satisfyingly weighty leather belt. But you know what they say. Anything worth buying on sale is worth buying full-price.
Seen here with: Olga Basha Petra Jeans, $490

Skims Cotton Fleece Classic Hoodie, $55 $88
A repurchase of the hoodie I wear most—it’s so fleecy and soft, like rabbit fur itself on the inside, but my old one is covered in dried paint and food stains. Now I have one for private and one for public use.
Seen here with: Jeanerica Sisli Jeans, $330 / Maximum Henry Wide Standard Belt, $160 / Neous Kalliope Heels, $388 $775
Splits59 Jackson Rib Full Length Turtleneck, $108 + River High Waist Airweight Stirrup, $134
Sale’s over, bleh. But still fairly priced (and 15% off for newsletter signup). I like my workout wear to have a little personality. Operative word: just a little! In spring and fall, it’s capri length bottoms, in summer, shorts a tad too short. For winter, I’m going stirrup. And for up top, a somewhat ski-coded long-sleeve that’ll moonlight in my regular-wear wardrobe.
