I attended the Emily Weiss sale and had a lot of feelings about it… Mostly I think the marketing was sorta misleading. I noticed signs for a garage sale when I was walking my dog the night before and what I went to felt more like an exercise in generating a profit from things you no longer need or want more than it felt like a neighborhood garage sale. I think if it were advertised as a ticketed high end closet sale that would have felt better to me. At the very least it may have felt more clear. There were no deals to be had there which to me garage sale = deals so just call it something else. I hope they donated the baby stuff that wasn’t sold.

I love Magasin and appreciate all the work it takes to produce it, but lately 1 out of every 3 links I click takes me to the wrong page.

Liana Satenstein’s sale model - in person and virtual via WhatNot - is both a fun viewing and shopping event that available to a wider audience. But maybe it only works for smaller sales…
