I just came off a job as a sales associate as a luxury retailer, and this newsletter really spoke to me. The store where I worked is known for mixing up-and-coming designers (several mentioned in this very newsletter) with established luxury houses, but they are dropping almost all of the former to bring in more of the latter. I feel like the industry is catering to the ultra-rich, like Lauren Sanchez, and choosing to ignore the emerging upper-middle class - often represented by stigmatized "new money" influencers.
post-Fforme he took a gig at Fear of God, but has since left that post earlier this year - i hope he's found (or will find) a position that honors his talent and clarity
I’m noticing a big uptick this season maybe not across the board, but some brands…damn. Ex I have several Erdem pieces that I’ve purchased in the last 6-ish years. A festive cardigan I bring out at least once during the holidays, floral dress I occasionally pull out for a nice occasion a nice top. Anyway, I did not pay more than $1500 for any of these items (I’m pretty sure I snagged the cardigan on sale for ~$700). Now everything I look at is over $3k. Some more than double that much 😳 what is going on?
Ladies, please explain the me what you did not like about fforme? I am unfamiliar with the brand. Not in the industry. When you don’t like or even like a style, please explain more specifically. I do t live in ny, and a lot of the clothes I see are just not wearable outside of nyc

I was so excited by the early fforme shows, and want to like it now but …. Where did Paul Helbers go? It was sooo good
