12p Literary Sport re-see — the natural antidote to athleisure as clothing is actually chic activewear that can layer up to form a street-appropriate outfit. There’s a wonderful yellow for SS27 in all of the nylon-merino tees, as well as a fantastic barn coat. - MK
2p Rachel Comey show — pistol-starter show from our lady of NYC, whose proposition for spring includes polka dot panties smiling over waistbands, board shorts with heavy metal studs, and a spare-shoes-in-bag styling trick I’m adopting this week - LR
3p Susan Alexandra & Rachel Antonoff 3rd annual Best in Show — I welcomed this wholesome start to the week, starring a cast of adoptable pups and their handlers wearing Susan and Rachel’s whimsical designs. Ivy Wolk opened the show and Karen Elson closed, dressed in a spotted minidress and toting a tiny chihuahua mix named Appletini! - AV
5p ALC x Air Mail zine launch — wrote a little dalliance for the zine! - LR
5p Kate Walz show — a nostalgic soundtrack (The Cure, Sixpence None The Richer) and models playing spin-the-bottle on the runway. I liked the collection’s romantic, gauzy draped dresses, and some very low-slung skirts that left a hint of a panty/garter situation peeking out. - AV
6p Nordstrom cocktail at Marcel — hosted by Ethan James Green, Dara, and Yumi Shin; ran into newly appointed VP of fashion, Brooke Bobb…good hire (and she liked my Jude bag) - LR
6p Balenciaga cocktail — to launch the new hourglass bag with an NYC-specific avenue stamp (to rep the Greene Street store) arrived with a flight of negronis and champagne - MK
6:30p Avvenn at WSA — Chinese contemporary brand Avvenn is exploring the theme of “balance” this season, and hosted a roundtable featuring my multi-hyphenate pal Alyssa Coscarelli, stylist Dione Davis, and sustainability advocate/creative director Marina Testino. - AV
9p Coach 85th anniversary celebration — a wall-to-wall pink-carpeted room filled with people unironically wearing metallic party hats. Spotted two distinct see-now-buy-now kisslock bag moments: one girl switching bags from her canvas tote to the Kisslock Frame 27 on the dance floor, and another faceless fellow carrying the sold-out Baseball Glove Kisslock Frame. - MK

Catalogue New York debuted the day before the day before the official calendar kicked off (that’s today, btw) with a Phoebe Philo-ish picture grid that’s not yet shoppable but deeply enticing. I’m seeing a top of skin, suiting in a McQueen way, and hacked lace slips.
Power talent agent (and my agent) Susanna Friedman just started telling me about this “amazing nightgown store” she discovered inside an antique mall in Midtown when model Stella Duval chimed in to say she bought her wedding dress there. It’s called Illisa’s Vintage Lingerie, and I’m told Illisa is kind of rude and bossy in just the way you would want the dame of an obscure nightie shop to be. It sounded familiar when she mentioned it, and it looks like Kaitlin Phillips covered this same spot as the place “where Anthony Vaccarello [shops] for silk nightgowns” last December.
Another Susanna rec: handmade-in-Greenpoint Joswick jeans, which she picked up at L’Ensemble (quite possibly the best merchandised store in New York). They are of the same exhaustive ilk as Olga Basha, with like-minded Japanese denim, and the fit is apparently in the balance of loose yet trim / flattering. There’s one pair left at L’Ensemble, and I hear prices for the jeans are soon to go up 30%.
A group that included Rachel Iwaniec (wholesaler of Colleen Allen, Savette, and Aubero who just got her Vogue flowers) and Fforme’s Michael Ragen spilled out of the Nordstrom cocktail at Marcel on their way to celebrate the opening of Taste, a new vintage store by Paige Rubin and James Morua located within WSA. It’s the brand’s second location after Melrose Place within Ending Soon Studios.
Parties I didn’t go to for launches that happened anyway: the Ugg x Willy Chavarria collab, and the Celine x Reebok collab.

I got to talking with some menswear friends, specifically Nordstrom Men’s Fashion Director Jian DeLeon and merchandising mastermind Brandon Mahler, and the subject of Supreme’s collab with Japanese brand A.Presse came up. Both are extremely well-connected with plugs in high places, and yet neither was able to secure a pre-order for today's drop. A leather jacket and M-65 jacket are available on Supreme’s website, though the tees, oxfords, and suit have sold out.
