Late send today after back-to-back appointments in the city. Have you guys seen Canal street lately? No one who walks through that neighborhood—it’s blanket-to-blanket all the way down to Nino Mier, Hulken bags brimming with Pra-don’ts and Louis Fauxttons—can say shopping isn’t thriving in New York.
My own personal Canal street spree involved a pop by to see my friends at Aflalo, buying the last OTC packs of Troscriptions’ Cannatine Blue at Happier Grocer (it’s going clinician-only), getting my pores vacuumed by Cali Strauhs, and scoping our rug colors IRL at Nordic Knots. The four corners of the Magasin universe—fashion, interiors, aesthetics, and longevity—perfectly attended to.

What’s new
The first chapter of Nour Hammour’s FW26 dropped just in time for the annual end-of-summer outerwear purchases (IYKYK). In this initial release, we have some new luxuriously textured shearling outerwear like the Mira Glamorous jacket, and some rich unlined lambskin versions of the Sylvie robe coat.
Eckhaus Latta introduces AW26 with some pattern play and a whole lotta knits. Some of the most striking visual dynamism this season comes in the bull’s-eye polo, a long-sleeve with an olive-and-pink stripe motif making the shape of a diamond to frame the torso. Even the knits take on optical-illusion-level heights in the asymmetrical Henley collar on the roving pullover knit, and the tastefully multi-color stripes on the racer cardigan (very reminiscent of ’90s Gap).
Khaite expands the Blake bag universe with three new shapes: the top handle, the nano (a less expensive option starting at $2,400), and an extra-long version of the original clutch. Each still possesses the same structured boxy bones and signature Empire hardware that made the original Blake want to start a family, so to speak. The price range similarly grows, with some exotic skins like the golden olive alligator available only at price upon request.
COS launches AW26 with some serious swing. By that, we mean the bell-shaped shifts and hems meant to catch a breeze, like the scuba A-line mini and animal-jacquard midi dresses. Apart from frocks, there are some strong fluid silhouettes, like the merino wool mock-neck tank (the cobalt is excellent) and the aptly named fluid pleated straight-leg pants, which has the option of a matching suit jacket.

Men’s releases
Zara & Aaron Levine team up once again for this exclusive capsule built for some risky business, sans Tom Cruise. The collection makes ’80s power lunch aesthetic references through its suit separates (see: this wool-linen trouser-jacket setup) with touches of prep-school-privileged mirth in the bright green textured cable jumper it’s styled with. Dotted with zip-ups, plain tees, and retro leather sneakers, Levine and Zara show that ’80s prep will be to the 2020s what ’90s alt was to the 2010s.
The Lisa Yang AW26 menswear collection is here, and cashmere is represented in a litany of menswear contexts, from structured double face trousers (the Parker) to softer, mid-weight crewneck sweaters (the Mason). Oh, and in case your ears and neck get chilly: a brushed cashmere balaclava and the Florianne knit bandana-style scarf.
Home releases
There’s some new lighting over at Lumens from a couple of Brooklyn-local brands that really know their way around a bulb, so to speak. Some pieces from designer Christopher Merchant’s work for Roll & Hill are available, like this ceramic table lamp, as well as fixtures like this bubble chandelier from Red Hook-based PELLE.
Designer Han Seungmin presents his white picket chairs for sale at design incubator Lichen, and they are…made of stainless steel. A part of the designer’s ongoing White Picket Chair project, they’re inspired by the steel fences and gates found in NYC’s Asian and West Indian neighborhoods, representing the “white picket fence” ideal of the American Dream from the vantage of an immigrant family. Each chair doubles as an art piece and a functional seat which, for $1,600/per, is a good investment on a mindful concept.
What’s on sale
The Tory Burch private sale begins now, offering an additional 15% off already marked down prices. Some favorites are the more distinctly TB items from past seasons of RTW, like this strapless floral sequined dress. As for accessories, we suggest going for fun colorways of icons like the Ella tote in this funky print.
We’re at the beginning of the Reformation sale, and the copy at the top of the dedicated edit says it best: 30% off a bunch of cute stuff. Said cute stuff spans the spectrum of Reformation swag, from cutesy dresses made to wear while carrying picnic baskets, like the delicate floral linen Birdie, to satin pants made to have pointy shoes poke out of the ankle hem—the Gale bias pant is a perfect example.
