Itinerary
Monday, April 20

9a AD x Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation breakfast — a gorgeous Uzbek breakfast spread hosted by AD Italia. Uzbek culture and craft is really having a moment, combined with a surge in tourism to that country—if you’re not seeing it yet, you will. - XD
9:30a Fornasetti preview - LR
10a cc-tapis preview curated by Dan Thawley - LR
10a Osteria Fiori di Marimekko - XD
11a Hermès presentation — sometimes when a brand whose primary focus is fashion presents at design week, the uniforms steal the show. Such was the case with the staff at Hermès, who were clad in all white with colorful silk scarves tied around the neck. - XD
1p The Eames Office and Kettal present “The Eames Houses Exhibition” — ran into Dwell’s Ian Zunt who acted as an impromptu PR person / tour guide for the launch of this kit home, a modular system based on the iconic Eames House in the Palisades; it arrives flat-packed and starts at $260 per square foot. - LR + XD
1:30p CALMA by Zara — a takeover of the Palazzina Appiani that included a “swimming pool” installation made through video projections and fog. - LR
2p Buccellati preview — an under-the-sea funhouse shrouding a banquet of silver dining accessories, as far as a sterling lobster and caviar dish containing tiny silver caviar beads. - LR
2p Prada Frames PHOTOGRAPHY: POWER AND EVIDENCE panel - LR
2:30p Kelly Wearstler x H&M Home preview — launching September 3, with modular pieces like a Mario Bellini-inspired armchair / sofa system at an ostensibly much lower price. The Zara Home-ification of H&M. - LR
2:30p L’Appartement, curated by antiques dealer Antoine Billore for L’Artisan Parfumeur — perhaps my favorite presentation so far was this apartment which was expertly staged by antiques dealer Antoine Billore (if you don’t follow him, you should!), which felt artfully layered in just the way I love. Everything inside is available for sale via Instagram. - XD
3p Convey Project — didn’t make it for press previews yesterday, but made a point of going today to see Joshi / Greene’s incredible rail system. The brand’s just a year old with a handful of residential (and a few commercial) projects under their belt, but infinite runway ahead of them…I’m now scheming an entire room in my renovation to accommodate it. Also major from the fair was Rooms Studio, a Georgian design duo and favorite from last year who’ve put out a steel chair with a burlap slip that I’d love to see around my dining table. - LR
3p USM, Snohetta, and Annabelle Schneider present “Renaissance of the Real” - LR
4p L’Appartamento by Artemest preview — will travel for anything created by Charlap Hyman & Herrero. In this case, a suite of rooms furnished from Artemest’s catalogue. - XD

4p Casa Milana with BENI and Laguna~B at Mario Milana and Gabriella Campagna’s private residence — a highlight seeing this gorgeous apartment by former Brooklynites (increases the envy and imagination 10x), a labyrinth of generous rooms demonstrating the dynamism of Beni Rugs’ newest terrazzo collection. - LR + XD
4:30p Loro Piana installation - LR
5p Apartamento x Muller Van Severen cocktail - LR
6p Ginori 1735 Unveils “Officina Ultra” — I love Ginori. One day I will design some plates for them, mark my words. - XD
6p Neptune Papers cocktail at Giacomo Tabaccheria - LR + XD
Neptune’s Daytona Williams, like the rest of us, misread the weather this week and only packed winter clothes. He pulled off a great olive green military shirt to match Giacomo’s walls from Uniqlo (we love Uniqlo), plus Dickies pants.
6:30p WSJ Magazine cocktail at Lúbar - LR + XD
7p T Magazine cocktail at Villa Necchi — The duo of American magazines threw two of the best parties of the week! Between both of them, everyone I wanted to talk to was there. - XD
7p Leleu x Maison Lelièvre cocktail - XD
7p Veuve Clicquot “Chasing the Sun” Crafted by Yinka Ilori cocktail - LR
7p Cassina Fluid Re-Collection cocktail at 10 Corso Como - LR
7:30p Louis Vuitton cocktail - LR
8:30p Gucci Memoria cocktail — Demna made an appearance, both in person and woven into the chronically online tapestries created for the event featuring Bamboo Bags and Jackies in Renaissance-styled scenes that hung on the walls of the impressive Chiostri di San Simpliciano. - LR
9p The Camron Dinner at Trattoria del Ciumbia - LR
11p Dinner with too many people to list, organized by Alex Tieghi-Walker - XD
