436: The 100 items I wore most in 2025
Measuring staying power.
At the end of 2023 I published a list of every single item I bought that year and measured the ROI of each by finding cost per wear. Some $1,000+ items came down to double digits, and the lowest “wear costs” were down to pennies—Colorful Standard socks at 60¢.
It’s still a reader favorite, several dozen months later, but the trouble with it is that it doesn’t tell the full story of a year of wearing things. Usually, the pieces I wear most throughout a year are ones I’ve been wearing for years prior. Those pieces offer a far better metric of staying power. For this year’s retrospective, that’s the measurement I’m tracking.
Methodology
This list includes items both personally purchased and gifted by brands. Regardless of origin, all items have been listed based on the best currently available price, or if unavailable, from memory. They appear in order of most to least worn (though all were worn enough to enter the top 100 out of…hundreds more items).
I have assigned a Staying power score to each based on frequency of wear, likeliness of continued wear, time in my closet, condition, and inherent / resale value. It’s subjective, but considered and criteria-defined. Staying power, in other words, is how likely I am to hold onto a piece.
I’ve provided additional details for each of the top 25 pieces plus a few more throughout, and I’ve included sparse photos, given that this send far exceeds the inbox limit (unfurl me!!!), all pulled from the archives and containing several list-making items.
The longest-owned item on this list is my Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Hobo, bought November 2022. Seven items were purchased in 2023. Twenty-six in 2024. And sixty-six in 2025. Sixteen items have a staying power score of 100%, meaning I plan to own and wear these for the rest of my dressing eternity. Seventeen items have a score of 50% or under, which means they are frankly not long for my closet…likely a year or less left of wearability (when their time comes, I’ll thank them and move on).
And now, my 100 most-worn items of 2025—

The Row Dalia Bag, $1,990
Acquired Sep 14, 2024; no gaps in wear frequency; in good condition (some scratches); out of production and now rare. I’m so happy I bought this bag when I did, as it’s been unfindable since selling out way back when (it’s in stock in white here and on resale). It wears discretely, tucking comfortably under the arm. I wear it out for events but just as often during the day running around when I don’t need a proper schlepper. Its burgundy makes an attractive counter-point to an otherwise neutral outfit. A glorified wallet in many ways, but exactly what I need!
— Staying power: 95%Alaïa Studded Le Teckel Bag, $3,390
Acquired Apr 15, 2024; on-ramp period followed by consistently high wear frequency; in excellent condition; current resale value around 70% of retail. Like the Dalia, this Teckel has become so integrated into my wardrobe that I don’t save it for special occasions anymore. It’s an everyday-er, even to the bodega or the gym. Feels so mine at this point, not like a prop despite how objectively flashy it is.
— Staying power: 100%Comme Si La Shirt Classica, $275
Acquired Mar 19, 2024; year-round wear; retired after expected wear-and-tear yet proven re-purchasable. I’ve worn this perfect button down every spring, summer, and fall since adding it to my collection, and I’m not embarrassed to admit that by now it is stained to the point of being unwearable. The fact that it’s still my third-most worn item of the year despite being out of commission is my cue to reorder one, which I’ve just done.
— Staying power: 80%Ring Concierge Mariner Necklace, $1,698
Acquired June 2, 2025; daily wear through summer, before being placed into occasional wear rotation; timeless design; maintains inherent value of gold.
— Staying power: 100%Saint Laurent Carine Slingback Pump, $1,090
Acquired Sep 10, 2024 (via The RealReal for $310); damaged early on in ownership and reconstructed at cobbler; all-season wear; my default “gold accessories” going-out shoe.
— Staying power: 85%High Sport Veronica V-Neck Sweater, $384
$640Acquired May 7, 2025; remains in like-new condition; versatile and season-less applications.
— Staying power: 90%The Row Marlo 12, $4,900
Acquired Aug 20, 2025; exceptionally frequent wear despite being a new addition as of this year; my go-to errand tote for carrying small objects (pieces of mail, single grocery items, etc); perfect condition; tends to be sold out online.
— Staying power: 100%Neous Kaliope Lace Thong Sandals, $388
$775Acquired Apr 22, 2025; worn through inappropriate seasons; my reach-for heels to proof-of-concept outfits; delicate lace remains in solid condition.
— Staying power: 75%The Row Kolden Trench Coat, $3,650
Acquired Oct 7, 2024; currently sold out everywhere but very similar here and tan version here and here; permanently ended my search for “the perfect trench”; year-round and occasion-agnostic wear
— Staying power: 100%Toteme Slim Leather Knee Boots, $630
$1,050Acquired Jun 14, 2024; my go-to boot for going into Manhattan; surprisingly comfortable; remain in great condition, haven’t needed care since resoling early on; still among the best knee-high boot silhouettes on the market.
— Staying power: 95%Jacques Marie Mage Vendome Sunglasses, $1,155
Acquired Jul 25, 2025; indestructible construction but have some minor scratches from case-free carrying; super flattering and versatile use cases.
— Staying power: 90%The Row Lilas Pants, $1,450
Acquired Mar 18, 2025; after a highly involved investigation into tailored black trousers, these have settled into the top spot—whatever else I have in my closet, I know I can always look polished because of these (category-ending product); excellent condition.
— Staying power: 100%Flore Flore Diana Polo, $200
Acquired May 23, 2025; daily to weekly wear during spring and summer; great condition through frequent washing, holds shape well.
— Staying power: 75%Gucci Demna Python Heels, originally paid ~$1,500
Acquired June 2025; pre-sale of Demna’s first collection for Gucci, yet to launch widely (expected this spring—here’s a vintage comp); historical value; pre-distressed so on path to age well; my silver accessories go-to heel.
— Staying power: 100%Levi’s 503B, originally paid ~$200
Acquired c. 2024; near category-ending item for me, a big statement for denim; fit is unparalleled; wear only improves them.
— Staying power: 100%Auralee Hard Twist 5P Jeans, $440
Acquired Oct 25, 2023; secondary near-category-ender for denim (rigid straight-leg); super polished finish; condition is great after only several dry cleans.
— Staying power: 90%Saint Laurent SL 751 Jeanne Sunglasses, $470
Acquired Aug 8, 2024; fit my face great; interesting shape but not too trendy to forego timelessness; some scratches from case-free use.
— Staying power: 60%Le Monde Beryl Apres Ski Flats, $625
Acquired Jan 11, 2025; purchased a second pair this month; run a full size small but I still managed to wear them in my OG size for a full year, at which point the shearling matted down enough to accommodate; currently using one pair as my outdoor shoes (work as boots with thick socks even in snow) and the other as indoor slippers.
— Staying power: 70%Déhanche Mini Hutch Belt, $100
$190/ Déhanche Pony Hair Mini Hutch Belt, $250
Acquired Aug 12, 2025; second one shortly after; the double-buckle effect is subtle but interesting, which makes me gravitate to it; insane quality; equally insane price for the quality; impeccable after many wears.
— Staying power: 100%Louboutin Raratonga 55 Leather Mules, $597
$795Acquired Aug 23, 2024; wish I didn’t love white shoes as much as I do because they inevitably get pretty chewed over time with a lower chance of satisfactory repair; wore these close to death but I’ll keep wearing them until I absolutely can’t…might have a re-purchase ahead.
— Staying power: 40%Lara Somnez Nay Ring, $810
Acquired c. early 2025; maintains inherent value of solid sterling silver; dinged from frequent wear but that adds character.
— Staying power: 90%Martiniano White Party Heels, $580
Acquired Dec 2, 2024; in great condition considering the delicate white leather, almost no obvious signs of wear; closed-toe makes them wearable year-round.
— Staying power: 80%Enza Costa Ribbed Tee, $120 / Enza Costa Ribbed Long Sleeve, $125
Acquired Jan 22, 2025; interchangeable short and long-sleeve versions of the same ribbed tee; skin-tight and easily layerable or wearable alone; have held up great after many washes; happily re-purchaseable if / when they pit out.
— Staying power: 60%Lemaire Leather Jacket, $2,096
$2,620Acquired Sep 19, 2025; a great fall jacket but thinner than expected for colder weather; great and versatile off-black-brown color.
— Staying power: 85%

Jamie Haller The San Diego Sandal, $498
Acquired May 14, 2025; my favorite flip-flop I’ve ever owned in look and comfort; wore these to hike Capri’s hills for a week this summer and all over New York this year; navy color is fading at most exposed parts; keeping this pair and considering a second.
— Staying power: 75%Le Monde Beryl Luna Slippers, $590
Acquired Jul 22, 2025; stretched out a bit after many wears, now I use them with socks; fairly beat up (white shoe problems); enjoyed them thoroughly but might be near retirement.
— Staying power: 35%A Yoon Jasper V-Neck White Tee, $80
Acquired Jul 31, 2024; my platonic white v-neck for the year I became obsessed with the neckline.
— Staying power: 40%Completedworks Foreshore Silver Ring, $410

$880Acquired May 7, 2025.
— Staying power: 70%L’Artigiana Viareggina Loafers, originally paid ~$200
Acquired c. summer 2025; possible a category-ender as I no longer reach for any of my (many) other loafers; you can only buy them in Rome if you’re lucky enough to find them in stock, but these Scarosso and Doucal’s ones are a very close match.
— Staying power: 95%Skims Classic Hoodie, $88
Acquired May 12, 2024.
— Staying power: 45%Lauren Manoogian Double Knit Trench, $836
$1,045
