Two news sends in one week? Sometimes the shopping news simply overfloweth like that. I’ll let the reportage below speak for itself, only to add quickly that a reader positively ID’ed the insane Patek Philippe pendant we spotted on Rubirosa’s founder Lauren Rubinski during PFW. It’s a Ricochet Pocketwatch, which you can “solder a bigger bale on it and wear it on whatever you wish!” Per Yana. If you’re lucky enough to find one, it’ll cost you anywhere from $10-15k.
THINGS EMILY NOTICED: Undercover at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show
Emily Dawn Long is back with her noticing eye—she opined a couple weeks ago on everything from the Zara Home racks at the GWYN to launch the best Rodeo bag fakes. Now, she’s valiantly stepped in for some on the ground reporting to, yet again, NOTICE THINGS that others might not.
Laura had family in town and I fully raised my hand and said I’LL GO. I grew up watching the Victoria’s Secret fashion show every year. Like really close to the tv. I studied it. We had a long hallway in my childhood home and when no one was home I would practice those iconic walks.
You are (ideally) pointing at the crowd; being your own hype man. While blasting your feet into the ground with such emphasis to fucking make your mark on that stage and then you do a little hip hand shake with the crowd as you flirt with them at the end of the runway, while simultaneously kissing or winking to the audience/camera and turning around and maintaining the same energy all the way back. It’s a god damn art form. And not many know how to do it. (If I’m being frank) these woman are: everything studying Gisele, Karolina Kurkova, Adriana Lima, and Tyra. It’s the head turn for me.
The evening started out with me texting the Throwing Fits dinner girls group chat “What does one wear to a Victoria’s Secret show”… We (Emily) ended up with a crisp button down JEFF by yours truly in solid black and a lace bra—‘cause it was a lingerie slumber party after all. (I have no excuse for this Nosferatu claw hand.)
I would only notice the men, I mean menswear:

I saw four men in brown suede cropped jackets. This man is referencing the 2007 show when Justin Timberlake opened with sexy back in a full three-piece suit. Patrick Schwarzenegger walked past with a huge smile and what appears to me as unisex tailored blazer-like leather jacket—reminding me of this one from the spring 2025 Kallmeyer show. Locked eyes with the cutie Mel Ottenberg in his black leather bomber with rib trim. It felt like when I first moved to New York in 2012. Everyone was in New York blacks. Including myself.
I read a quote from [VS creative director] Adam Selman speaking on the importance of not overthinking things at such a huge brand like Victoria’s Secret: “At the end of the day, it’s bras and panties. I would hope you’re laughing and having a good time in bras and panties.” And I have to say—that was very much the vibe.
Selman’s adornments were very wearable—more so than other years’ themes and theatrics. Maybe they will produce some of the pieces they layered with. Or maybe it was their intention to make it relatable. But I do love me a…
Circling back to my rant on everyone’s runway walk. After watching the 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2011 shows quickly on YouTube while writing this, it’s clear that it was the crowd who was lacking energy. And not the models per se.
Final note*** The crowd was weird and influencers who would make content rather than people who would hype the models and that was lame.

What’s new
Uniqlo is throwing its hammer down hard this season—subsequent drops from its sell-out-fated collaborations with Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran (Uniqlo U) and Clare Waight Keller (Uniqlo : C) were among the top-clicked, top-shopped, most-worn (if you’re me) events of the past several sends. So what’ll happen today, with the launch of the latest JW Anderson x Uniqlo collection? It’s not the first time Uniqlo collaborates with JW—he’s a recurring character in the LifeWear extended universe—but it is the first since he took his post and showed his debut collection as creative director of Dior. The newest Uniqlo capsule carries through JW signatures reliably found in JW Anderson, his eponymous line, and from his recent Loewe days: Britishisms like corduroy-collared country jackets, playful knits, personality pants. The high-low gulf of Anderson’s output channels is about as wide as it gets—it’s buying couture-adjacent design at everyman prices…as low as $7.90.
But then…is J.Crew the new Uniqlo? They’re sure following suit with a whole host of new collaborations—their latest is with British designer Alex Eagle, whose eponymous brand Alex Eagle Studio will translate its designer-leaning sportiness into J.Crew’s Americana. The Alex Eagle x J.Crew capsule includes 33 pieces that range from structured wool-blend trousers to scuba knit zip-ups, with just a touch of ’80s (American) football (see: this varsity jacket).
Just to say, new Proenza Schouler outerwear is looking extremely plausible this season. From both main line and White Label. Mind you, this all would have been designed pre-Rachel Scott, though possibly while she was consulting before being named creative director. This unctuously soft chocolate brown shearling first caught my eye, and then there was the lamb leather-knit hybrid jacket and this double-faced wool jacket with those button-off collars that are everywhere now (though I could do without the sleeve zippers). Also, that puffy sheep-leather blouson that you might have seen already is finally on sale.
More launches that signal the season change: new SHEARLING from Alaïa (imaginings of the Teckel and Ballerine), Toteme (a whole edit including suggested styling), and Blazé Milano (reversible jackets and vests). And then all the new CASHMERE from Gil Rodriguez’s sweaters and Guest in Residence’s sets down to Comme Si’s socks.
The artistic relationship between fashion and film is hitting critical mass, what with Saint Laurent’s debut at Cannes in 2024 and the new Fondazione Prada Film Fund launched at the Venice Film Festival this past month. Lemaire’s got its own foray into the moving image with Nine Frames, a film made up of nine vignettes that each illustrate both a unique feeling and look from the FW25 collection. You can watch it here.
Confirmed: we haven’t stopped talking about visible pubes since the Margiela SS24 Artisanal Collection. The proof? Skims’ most recent drop, THE ULTIMATE BUSH, a special edition of the microthong featuring what is essentially a mirkin updated for 2025. Choose between textures curly or straight, and colors blonde, ginger, brown, or black to match (or mix) the carpets and the drapes, so to speak.
Lots of jewelry newness hitting this early fall, such as a savoir-faire fine jewelry collection from designer Charlotte Chesnais, and LA-based Jenna Katz Fine Jewelry’s AW25 bridal campaign, Heirlooms. For lovers of the pre-loved, 1stDibs presents a collection of vintage and estate jewelry curated by writer and influencer Camille Charrière, featuring a range of bling from Edwardian-era Tiffany & Co. to Y2K-era Christian Dior runway chokers. The funky food accessories brand Gohar World also presents the Caviar Necklace, an ivory mother of pearl and onyx pearl piece made to resemble scooping caviar with those special little spoons, made in collaboration with Parisian caviar and fine food house Petrossian.
Circular-luxury fashion brand Another Tomorrow presents exclusive access to its Evening 2025 collection, inspired by style icon Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s ’90s-minimal approach to nighttime dress. As CBK’s wardrobe approached simultaneity (sophisticated and sensual, distinctly feminine menswear silhouettes), so does Another Tomorrow in pieces like the Tuxedo Jacket and Contour Seamed Dress.
There’s also: A Swedish Stockings x Leandra Medine Cohen hosiery capsule collection drops today; a JW Anderson x Moncler collaboration (JW strikes again) featuring two unique patterned puffers for men’s and women’s; a limited edition nail polish duo from J.Hannah in partnership with The Hammer Museum and Made in L.A. 2025 artist Kristy Luck; a new Jil Sander x PUMA collaborative King Avanti sneaker—a re-edition of the original, circa-1998 style; Jamie Haller’s track pant is back in stock after rolling sell-outs; and Eckhaus Latta followed up its slam-dunk snap hobo with a bucket style bag.

Jewelry brand Erede found a synergetic partner in designer David Coan, the outcome of which is the most remarkable, magnetic, attractive jewelry box—solid aluminum lined with suede for an agreeable $520.
Avant-garde fashion designer Rick Owens released his collectible book TEMPLE OF LOVE this past Tuesday with Rizzoli International, a tome charting the past 30 years of his namesake brand through its seemingly boundless reach in the realm of fashion, architecture, interiors, and site-specific installation (see: the peeing sculpture made in the designer’s image).
