Itinerary

Sept 29
1p Arrive to Hôtel ESTÉ
2p Lanvin fitting
3p Lymphatic facial at Le Fresh Club
4:30p Fidan Novruzova show — gutted to miss, but my schedule got pushed back after flight delays…thought I could do it all, but alas. The collection looked remarkable, classic Fidan ‘80s bold brilliance. And now via runway!
6p Keigan cocktail — in a typically, insanely frosted apartment curated for the occasion by Sophie Dries.
8p Dinner at Vantre
Sept 30
11a Brand content shoot
2:30a Lanvin show — socialite party clothes (complimentary) and, one of my favorite discoveries: Peter Copping makes a mean heel!
8p Dinner at Jip — had to skip this recc’d prix fixe to eat unsalted rice and chicken breast instead at a local brasserie. I’m fasting for a non-fashion-related experience tomorrow that I’ll be sharing more on soon.
some skips

Shopping gossip

What’s in my bag? What is my bag? I upgraded my vintage, pre-LVMH Rimowa suitcase I got on The RealReal to a new bronze luggage set from the brand; a Trunk Plus and an Original Cabin. It’ll mark the first time I travel for fashion week and haven’t underpacked. It’s a relief having way too many shoes with me, I have to admit. As my personal item, I traded out my often-used Métier Cala 32 for a Métier Private Eye. Sitting atop the cabin case, well, it’s quite the sight. The Private Eye has a bit more room and additional compartments that make it even easier for plane travel. My inner pouch, this pebbled-leather Cuyana, got an edit, too. I’ve whittled down the contents to a Lunya eye mask, Noshinku hand sanitizer, Iris&Romeo peptide lip mask, Lemme magnesium and melatonin gummies, Eadem lip glosses, Buly mini comb and toothbrush, nasal saline spray, Lumify eyedrops, AirPod Pro 3s, Muji 0.25 gel pen, spare contact lenses, souvenir lighter from Capri, travel toothpaste. I want for nothing!
It’s a very American-in-Paris thing to make big plans to visit the Lemaire flagship in the Marais and be utterly shocked when there are a bunch of other Americans in Paris, forming a long line outside. (As they say, you’re not in traffic, you are traffic.) I was smart and lucky enough to have picked up my pieces from the new Uniqlo U collection, also designed by Lemaire’s Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran, before leaving on this trip. I got a warm jacket, a thin yet compact half-zip knit, anywhere-anytime chinos, and naturally I wore them all immediately. I also got a striped button down and navy long-sleeve because they’re comforting to have around. This timing was key—not only because by the time I make it to the inevitable line, I’ll have already gotten my fix (at a noteworthy price-to-quality ratio)—but because the U collection tends to sell out very quickly, to the point that there’s a thriving resale market for it. Having just launched this week, stock is still decent, but I don’t expect that to be the case for long.
Calvin Klein Collection, after being exclusive on MyTheresa for a couple weeks, has finally reached the brand’s own site, which carries a handful of styles not stocked elsewhere.
Found out thanks to the gym at my hotel that the brand behind my woodsy home water-rowing machine also makes stationary bikes, treadmills, and free weights in the same visual language under the name Nohrd. A whole universe to fantasize about for that home gym someday…as soon as Facebook Marketplace catches up (and I materialize room for a home gym).
