SSENSE sale coverage is truly vintage Magasin. OG era but evergreen. I bought three things from SSENSE in the past week (two Flore Flore tanks and a High Sport v-neck sweater—none of them on sale), which is how I know that as I grow and evolve, the site grows and evolves with me. This isn’t just the SSENSE of covid-era, it’s the SSENSE of runway Auralee and Chemela’s Chloe, both on sale, by the way.
Anyway, yesterday morning, SSENSE flipped the switch on its sale from Private to Public (plus, an extended Private edit that’s only available if you’re signed into your account—it includes Alaïa, so it’s worth the extra step). Over the course of the day, I combed through the sale’s maddeningly many pages with surgical patience, my cursor a scalpel.
I’ll start with my own personal wishlist/cart items first: there is ONE Métier Incognito bag left in tan suede and it’s 33% off; Dunton Ellerkamp rings—I’m thinking multiples to stack along a finger or two, the gemless ones are under $150 rn; strappy Neous Merga heels that I’ve had on lists for seasons…they’re under $300 now, so it’s time; I’m doing research on the best black trousers for summer (coming soon!) and these viscose-wool Studio Nicholson ones for $255 are squarely within the parameters of what I’m looking for, so are these; also pants—Auralee for 60% off!; a poolside Bode kaftan for half off; more pants…these low-waist Magda Butryms that haunt me so I should probably just give in; and a Marni pink jacquard bustier that would look very nice on me I think. Oh! And Blumarine made the greatest sexy evening shorts. They’re 42% off.
Beyond that, many great things that would be redundant or out of size in my closet but are still urgently shareable. A 60% off Max Mara coat for those who are are further-sighted than I; the Prada runway sunglasses with eyebrows (lol) for 40% off; six pairs of Martinianos (sandals, flats, heels); one last unit of this Alaïa grommet pouch bag; but still several sizes of the cutout flats for 30% off; an SSENSE-exclusive sheer version of the iconic Eckhaus Latta lap long sleeve; a very summer stripy Vivienne Westwood cotton corset (might have to move this one up to “my list”); also very Beachtown, USA is this Beaufille net dress with floral appliqués for 60% off; my treasured Studio Nicholson suede tote is like $300 off; the Toteme Arcopedico-inspired knit flats; there’s stuff from The Row on PS—I would get this as my wedding dress if I didn’t have a perfectly good yet-unworn one in my closet…waiting for me to finally have a wedding to my already-husband….and this raincoat lol—but it’s all still priced very The Row; a Mrs. Prada-y suitcase-fold dress from Commission; and is Jacquemus coming back after White Lotus? I always liked it. Maybe never went anywhere. A ton of it is on sale and we should all remember that we’re young and hot enough to wear it way more than we are (I like this dress…and this sculpted blouse…and this coat version of my own Ovalo blazer…and even the Turismo bag is on sale).
What’s new
J.Crew collabs are back! The first of the summer is alongside sumptuously knotty jewelry brand Alighieri, whose trinkets for the brand include Medieval medallion pendants, padlock chains and belts, and even a gilded-button ramie shirt for proper yacht glitz.
Old Stone Trade—a venture that’s part brand, part store—has extended its curatorial eye for high-caliber makers to an edit of heirloom-able kid’s things. Teeny chambray smocks, teddy bears out of vintage picture books, a darling baby brush.
New sex wellness brand launch, Mienne. Designed by Chandelier Creative and kicked off with a party hosted by Julia Fox at The Box, a place I haven’t stepped foot in for the better part of a decade.
ALSO somehow linked to Chandelier Creative (I’m stalking Michael Scanlon’s IG can you tell) is a relaunch of 252-year-old Danish watch brand Urban Jurgensen (shoppable here for $22,000+). It’s still 22 days out from the unveiling but putting this on your radar because I’m inevitably getting into watches lol.
There’s also: Lié Studio launches bags—here’s early access; another vaguely White Lotus thing is that U Beauty, with Michelle Monahan as its spokesperson, launches a hydrating and skincare-y sunscreen; and Toteme SS25 is in!
Home releases
A few pieces of shopping news from within my personal orbit: friends Eny Lee Parker (ceramist) and Spencer Malinski (textiles at Tory Burch) have launched a joint rug venture called Speny. This after a couple of successful one-off collabs over the years, launching soon!
Another friend, Ford Bostwick, released his agreeably priced Mira Sconce to friends + family (and Magasin subscribers) ahead of NYCxDesign this week, along with free shipping through the 16th.
What’s on sale
I’ve talked a bit already about the Bally sale underway, but there as been an absolutely magnanimous development, which is that a hefty selection of the sale is now an additional 50% off. My tab situation is out of control. Leather jackets (this one in the same coated leather as mine that I got in Milan down to $687, this studded one now $925); the iconic bell-adorned bag from the runway for $712, compared to $2,850, and this mini-weekender-style bag now $512 from $2,050; a shapely opera flat for $220 and a slingback heel for $197 (!). I may be predictable, but I’m getting a pair of fab flared trousers for $262 and a crispy white button down with an embroidered emblem for the low low price of $127.
Tory Burch Summer Sale! Right on time (for me—I’m planning my Italy suitcase). I need this Grecian-draped marigold top and skirt set and you know what, this little flocked wedge, too.
MyTheresa is having a private sale on Isabel Marant, about whom, in my head, I keep repeating “is doing new Chloe even better than Chloe.” Boho, but like, in an understated, flattering way that gels with an existing wardrobe.
For the girls AND boys, &Daughter is having a private sale, too, for 30% off a selection with PRIVATESALE30. It’s excellently made knits including some v-neck vests that are great as tops with slouchy trousers for spring.
There’s also: Proenza Schouler rolls out private sale to subscribers—it’s 40% off with FIRSTACCESS; and Sea New York is throwing itself a 40% off fête.

Excellent selection of SSENSE sale items! I worked at SSENSE over a decade ago with an employee discount of 50% - I was making a peanuts salary so purchases had to be limited - so it’s great that I (+everyone) can still access that discount in some way. A truly wonderful time of year for shopping!
