Introducing Magasin’s pop-up Fashion Week newsletter-within-a-newsletter, where we’ll be covering shoppable observations from scenes of interest daily: Paris Fashion Week, Day 1.
Weather report
44ºF / 7º C — it can feel like every time I write one of these weather reports, I’m battling a literal deluge. For the first time I’m in Paris in years, it’s looking like a sunny, dry week…warm even in the coming days!
Itinerary
Mar 2
9a Land at CDG
3p IV drip with Vitamin IV — I did a decent amount of research before going with this company (a lot of other options were at hotels across town, but they came directly to me). They offered a jet-lag IV cocktail, a mix of vitamin C, magnesium, vitamin B, etc. that actually really did its thing. Might have to fold this into the travel ritual from now on.
7p Dinner at La Verre Volé
Mar 3
10a Pilates at The New Me
1p West Archive popup — shockingly good vintage archive, as in, everything on the racks across two floors was a full-on ‘80s-‘90s-‘00s runway grail
2p Cristaseya appointment — still Paris’ (and possibly anywhere’s) best in-person shopping experience. These clothes need to be touched in a way for the brain to truly comprehend…the online ephemeral store is also currently open.
3p Shopping around the Marais — Sabre, Buly, Lemaire (where I bought these amazing heels) etc…
7p Lemaire "Wearable Sculptures" exhibition opening
8:30p Dinner at Cendrillon
The look
LFM Leather Jacket (similar from Christopher Esber, $1.850) / Comme Si La Shirt Classica Flannel, $275 / Enza Costa Rib Long Sleeve Sweater Tee, $225 / Our Legacy Hip Trouser, $279 $310 / Saint Classic Leather Belt, $132 / Lemaire Micro Ballerina 85 Heels, $790

The leather artisan behind Lemaire’s molded bags, Carlos Peñafiel, was celebrated in an exhibition at the flagship last night, and with it rolled out a limited edition collection of minis—I got the shell and gifted my friend the boobs for her birthday. We both had the same idea when seeing them, which was to string a cord through their opening and fashion them as one of Lemaire's series of outsize objet necklaces like the castanets and bird whistles before them. Beyond his work for Lemaire, Carlos sells pieces through his Instagram—bronze lamps and resin sculptures—contact him at carlos.pen@laposte.net.
Did you also catch Éditions Siegelbaum-Tran? Lemaire designer Sarah-Linh debuted her eponymous publishing house coinciding with the exhibition, its first work a monograph devoted to Carlos’ work.
Another travel change up I made this trip was flying with my Métier Cala 32 bag (which I have in brown suede) instead of the Bottega Intrecciato hobo XL I've tasked with the job for the last two years. The Metier is smaller but more structured, which made digging out my airplane effects (eye mask, facial mist, AirPods) much easier. It's open at the top, so my Cuyana insert was more crucial than ever, but on the plus side the small pouch that unsnaps from the Metier can act as a clutch when I get tired of the other bags I brought.
Did you know Sabre made chopsticks? Me neither, but they're quite fabulous and deceptively comfortable to grip.
Cristaseya is selling leather flip flops from Jutta Neumann New York, a small, by-appointment shop in the East Village. The leather has an extraordinary organic wabi-sabiness about it, and styles can be customized and made to order to one's liking.

Truly sorry to be annoying, but could I please ask what size you wear in the Comme Si shirt?
