Introducing Magasin’s pop-up Fashion Week newsletter-within-a-newsletter, where we’ll be covering shoppable observations from scenes of interest daily: New York Fashion Week, Days 0 + 1.
Weather report
38ºF / 3º C — It snowed in the morning and then rained for the next four hours…I’m a bit offended!
Itinerary
Feb 5
4:30p Samuel Ross in Conversation with Jon Gray + Lynette Nylander, hosted by Zara — first thing on my calendar and I miss it, FML
5p Moda Operandi x Rùadh launch cocktail at People’s — second drop from denim savant Jac Cameron, everyone looked so hot in their elevated Canadian (Scottish?) tuxedoes
6p Tish Weinstock How to Be a Goth book signing — single-handedly marking a return to REAL subcultures (not cores) and the styles that come with them. Gother (goth author) Tish wore a 1930s lace dress from Aralda Vintage, a vintage Dolce blazer, and Prada shoes.
6:30p Madewell campaign launch cocktail
7p Nike dinner at Gem Home — there’s a cool fashion-world collab coming down the pipeline next year but I’m not allowed to talk about it yet
8p Saks Fifth Avenue party at Crane Club — best party setting yet
Feb 6
9a Nanushka Cafe popup at Happier Grocery
11:30a Orveda facial
1p Tabayer preview — got some more context on this fine jewelry brand I really like, which is that the motif found in every piece is based off the Sumerian symbol Inanna’s knot, meant to be a stand in for the religious talismans more commonly found in the designer’s Uzbekistan. Also, it’s launching mens at Mr. Porter very soon.
2p Absolutely Fabrics showroom at WSA — Toronto-based multi-brand shop with an edit enviable even to New Yorkers…where else can you find Nicklas Skovgaard, Monica Sordo, and vintage Vivienne Westwood under one roof?
2:30p Entire Studios showroom at WSA
5p Moda Operandi cocktail at Obvio
6:30p MyTheresa cocktail at Temple Bar — unrelated to the event, but I did just notice they’re doing extra 30% off sale
7:30p Prada SS25 campaign cocktail

Ran into my stylist friend Steven La Fuente at the Prada party wearing what I THOUGHT was a Vaquera Flute Bag. No! He was toting around a chef’s knife carrier. (I should have recognized it…my chef husband has these littered around our kitchen.) Looks like this is his exact model, but you can find these things made of real leather for $135, which is more than one can say of the polyurethane Vaquera original. And presto: Fashion week-ready statement bag.
The artist duo Batten and Kamp got so much buzz from their installation at the Entire Studios Paris showroom during Men’s Week that word of their work reached [major musical celebrity]. He bought this sculpture made of rocks and keyboards as a Valentine’s Day present for [his even majorer musical celebrity partner]. But seriously, no one ruin the surprise for [redacted!! Will update when the holiday passes].
MyTheresa is in the process of building a reproduction Bemelman’s Bar in Aspen (which you’d know if you’ve visited the NYC one recently—it’s sharing the news on its coasters), and Ash’s Xavier Donnelly is creating custom wall finishes that pay homage to Ludwig Bemelmans’ iconic illustrations for the space. Now’s a good time to recall Xavier’s collaboration with Backdrop, which allows shoppers to bring other Xavier-conjured wallpaper into their own homes.
The girls are taking their supplements!! No one wants to get sick—Tara Thomas is on a Moon Juice SuperYou/NAC kick, and Alina Timo is macrodosing vitamin D. One thing we can all agree on is magnesium is key (this is the one I take).
The Lucien Pages team properly matched my freak about the Eadem lip gloss, which I spotted in use at a Helmut Lang gifting suite on day -1. I’ll tell you what I told them: I keep two shades on constant rotation—Burnt Malai for daytime use and Bissap Glaze for evening. I wore the latter last night and got a ton of (two) DMs about it. FWIW I also use the brand’s Cashmere Peel as my one and only gentle chemical exfoliant on retinol-off nights.

EADEM founder here, and also our product developer. Someone sent me this link. I loved reading your article. I had no idea the lip balm was part of this, it's exciting. Thank you so much for mentioning us <3
I too will be toting around a chef's knife carrier as purse next time you see me lolz
