Shoppable observations
Hotel Chateau d’Eau’s designers, Necchi Architecture, did a lot of bespoke work for the space (custom stainless steel basins in the bathrooms, a collaboration with Géraldine Roussel on the framed artworks, mini bars integrated into lacquered counters and shelves couched in wall-to-wall-to-end-table shag carpeting). Meaning there’s not a lot that can be swiped directly from the space via a 1stDibs page. What I did find is that the firm collaborated with the design platform Monde Singulier on an eight-piece furniture capsule that totally captures the vibe they created in the hotel. Prices are all upon request.
Less of an out-in-the-world observation and more of an inbox item, but it’s my duty to share that a few collections featured heavily in these sends from fashion weeks of yore are newly on SSENSE: Colleen Allen (after selling out at Vestige), Edward Cuming who embargoed me from posting pics last season lol, Alainpaul who cinched a Future Shopper spot for this scarf coat (!), and LII, which I already mentioned in one of the New York sends, but worth a reminder. SSENSE, as always, is on the beat.
My JFK>CDG flight was basically a chartered shuttle for fashion week attendees. The prevailing signifier was a Telfar Shopping Bag, more distinct than even a Rimowa, if you can believe it. The most refreshing luggage prize, though, goes the woman using a Pelican case as a carry on.
I posted a weekly planner to my Close Friends story, made up of Frankensteined screenshots from my desktop Google Calendar tab, weather forecasts, and pasted in outfit selfies corresponding to each day/night. It was a cry for help. Allegra Samsen pointed me to Stylebook, an app that basically does all of the things I was haphazardly cobbling together and then some.
Conspiracy theory of the day — the receptionist at my hotel is a former Great British Bake Off winner
Putting on a fake accent, naturally.
