Shoppable observations
Jac Cameron, who just debuted her denim brand Rùadh (coming October), tells me she works with Brit Eaton, a Montana-based denim dealer who goes by Carpe Denim, on sourcing vintage jeans—he’ll go digging into old mining shafts looking for scavenged pairs and then send her options by the crate. She says her favorite is the Levi’s 517 or Levi’s’ Orange Tab, but only pre-1970s. Suzie Kondi, who also just added jeans to her offering, likes Wrangler Blue Bells.
Suzie also sells made-in-Bali bamboo backgammon tables under the brand name, and Swizz Beatz just bought one for his wife, Alicia Keys. Suzie hosts a backgammon club out East, which she’s expanding soon to NYC. Personally, I had a very backgammon-y summer with my Fruity Booty sarong—it comes with dice and chips.
The serious wine people I’ve spent time around this week most recommend the Glasvin Raj, the Gabriel Glas Gold, or Kimura glassware for the best drinking experience.
