Shoppable observations
The most interesting and unexpectedly useful pair of socks I own is a set of stretch-crochet Antipast ankle socks that I bought at the incredible store Mouki Mou on Chiltern two years ago. Yesterday, I saw my friend Vesper Ireland, who does production and partnerships, wearing a very similar knee-high pair. We figured out they were the same brand, and she told me she’d bought them at Harrod’s some 15 years ago. It’s cool to learn the long history the UK has with this tiny, hard to find Japanese brand and even cooler that you can now find them online.
Jewlery designer J.Hannah has a phenomenal collaboration coming out with the late Northern Californian sculptor JB Blunk. Can’t share pics yet, but look out for it in October. In the meantime, I was pretty happy to discover a trove of Blunk wares available for purchase through the estate’s website that are exactly the thing to outfit a design-minded hippie’s whimsical treehouse home. Or, how about an original 1920s wood sculpture for $3,000?
Today at noon,
is going live with eBay QVC-style to sell off a selection of NYFW-y pieces curated by Wisdom Kaye (who Google tells me is a model and a TikToker with 12mm followers? OK). I don’t totally know what to expect product-wise, but Liana did threaten to burn my house down if I bought a certain vintage Ralph Lauren bag out from under her, so I assume there’s some decent stuff. Did you know there is a whole page of eBay Live events like this where you can watch, basically streamers, talk about and sell things like trading cards and rare coins? Later today, after Liana’s hour, you can shop for diamonds and 14k gold and participate in a “luxury in reach” giveaway with a woman simply known as Miranda. Wild!
Phrase of the day — “back to school”
It was e v e r y o n e ’s IG Story caption and then Jack and Lazaro said it (about their two-day-early show) in a WWD interview. Yet another case of prep taking over fashion!
