Thrifted a pair of Vince linen blend (fully lined!) pants last spring and my friend saw me wear them ONCE and bought a pair on poshmark that week - they were that good! Totally made me reevaluate Vince tbh. great details, great materials, and comfortable.
Got a great vintage leather midi last December, they’re surprisingly versatile!! Not a myth hahah. I always feel extremely pulled together but never boring in it. Excited to break it out for fall finally and this was the perfect nudge 💯
i fully believe it only takes experiencing a vince piece to appreciate what the brand is doing. glad you and your friend both had that moment! im excited to see more leather skirt inspo this season now that i've had my exposure therapy lol
couple things! i moved climates and lower humidity meant looser curl pattern, i've gotten keratin on and off over the years, and now i prefer to blow dry rather than air dry, which renders my hair straighter than when i air dry. love curls just find them too hard to manage on me!
Very thorough reply. Mine is stick straight but now it’s long enough to do 2 French braids ~ pigtails~ run product thru (Davines oil, surf mud or some oribe elastic thing & now I have my dream hair.. beachy waves ~i love. Had them when I lived near Salt water 💦 on east coast.
Thst is my thorough reply (to a question nobody actually asked 😂😂
This read like a feminist exorcism of every Cosmo lie I swallowed in 2003—thank you. The “corporate kink” breakdown was disturbingly accurate (leather skirt as the post-dress-code power move is... canon now), and the Didion packing list? Chef’s kiss. Also agree on Vince—quiet luxury with a brain. This just convinced me my vintage midi isn’t a relic, it’s a transitional season talisman. Appreciate the myth-busting.
This piece is hilarious and so relatable! I love how you took on the leather midi skirt myth with such humor and honesty. The idea that it’s either the “single most important fall staple or a complete myth” is exactly how I feel about so many trends—either they’re totally game-changing or utterly perplexing.
The way you tackled your leather skirt anxiety and shared the journey of embracing the piece is fantastic. It’s like you’re speaking for anyone who's ever had doubts about a wardrobe staple that’s supposed to be “classic” but feels just a little out of reach. And your descriptions of how you styled it are spot on; it’s all about feeling comfortable and cool at the same time.
And the nod to corporate kink? So true—there’s a unique blend of power and personality in these looks, especially when you’ve got leather that’s less "intimidating" and more "powerful chic." It’s amazing how much the right pieces can shift how we feel about the traditional “boss look.”
I totally agree with your take on the Vince pieces—sometimes brands like that surprise you with how versatile their pieces are once you give them a chance. Thanks for the nudge to give this classic item a real shot! You’ve definitely convinced me that the leather midi is not a myth.
Love Vince for their great fabrics and edgy minimalism. I have managed to score a few of their silk blouses at Nordstrom Rack over the years. They are stylish and do not date. Great drape.

Why isn’t your hair curly anymore? Asking as someone whose curls are rarely seen in fashion, celebrity-sphere, etc.

Vince is such an underrated brand, at least in the UK—it's so good to see it getting the spotlight! Love the leather styling!
