259: A rare and deep-cut Attersee sale

I checked the Magasin archive for mentions of Attersee, which needs no introduction in this newsletter, but let me just say: It’s a defining member of the new New York fashion canon and one of my never-fail brands. It came up many times in my outfit credits—I wear its sculpted vest (I have two) and twist-back tank chronically and have been known to bust out the sculpted mini and striped kaftan on special occasions—and touted a halo of admiration and urgency around its thoughtful collection releases. But where it never appeared was in the sale section.

Attersee’s founder Isabel Wilkinson emailed me a couple weeks ago to tell me that the brand, in a rare move, was planning to cut prices pretty significantly on a selection of inventory. The sale will officially kick off on August 8. But!
