Have been buying pieces from bettter since they first launched. Didn’t realize net had started carrying them! So excited to get my linen set for summer! Literally wanted everything you just wrote about!
im so excited about them, an example of what every new brand could and should be achieving. this new step into linen is honestly brilliant to me—if you get the set send pics!!
Norma Kamali really is the best! Uncanny ability to cut pieces that truly flatter the body. I have one magic dress that somehow works as beautifully on me (in my 30’s) as it does on my mother (60’s) and niece (late teens) who have both borrowed it.
The Julietta Coral Beaded Necklace you list seems ethically problematic, if it is made, as you say, with real coral.
According to the NOAA National Ocean Service, consumer demand is contributing to the decline of corals, and their critical coral reef habitat, around the world. Commercial harvesting to satisfy the demand for coral jewelry has had destructive impacts especially on Corallium — the red and pink corals used to create jewelry like the necklace you are promoting.
Tiffany & Co has taken a stand for ocean & coral conservation that includes this statement: “Nearly two decades ago, we made the principled decision to stop using coral in our products and raised client awareness of the issue by encouraging other jewelers to do the same.”
thanks for sharing this, i wasn't aware of the extent of coral vulnerability, so this is eye opening. the brand behind the necklace does use upcycled materials, which i imagine is the case with piece as well - second-life coral would thankfully not be damaging to coral habitats, but this is a good opp to amplify awareness nonetheless!

The Smithsonian asks people to avoid coral jewelry because coral harvesting destroys important marine habitat:
