Please consider today’s newsletter my out-of-office reply, effective ‘til I’ve returned from my NYE travel plans on January 7. Before I go dark, though, this after-Christmas sale edit—which I had more people ask me about than Black Friday—has proven to be an impressive mass of deals to end the year with.
Not only is the SSENSE sale up to 70% off (they never advertise higher than that, btw), but four of the biggest multi-brand retailers are running concurrent Prada & Miu Miu sales that put the sister brands up to 60% off. Independent, women-designed labels Tory Burch, Maria McManus, Kallmeyer, and Attersee are getting increasingly aggressive with their discounting. And there are sample sale-level prices to be found over at Reformation, Maison Rogue, &Daughter, and Dover Street Market.
I’ve lost any and all patience for sales and brands that bore me (no more feeling like I should include something), so even though the list is long, it’s been filtered to include only those worth your while.

With the SSENSE sale up to 70% off these days, the site has started to feel less like a boutique and more like a mall, in a good way—a location where you can cap off your workday (or sneak to at lunch break) for low-stakes browsing and try-ons. Prime real estate for malling around is at Andersson Bell, with almost a hundred experimental-but-practical pieces well under the $100 mark and plenty more past it, Amomento for offbeat basics down as low as $20, and Hereu for deals that surpass the brand’s own site’s and scratch the shoe-fiend itch in a way DSW could never.
The listless week between Christmas and NYE might not be the ideal vantage point for future-shopping, so luckily the MyTheresa sale takes up to 70% off plenty of cold-weather gear—padded Gia Borghini boots are $203; an Emilia Wickstead scarf in floral-print, ruby taffeta is under $200; a Norma Kamali wrap dress in cozy black jersey is $81, and that’s the tip of the iceberg.
Studio Nicholson has added new pieces to its winter sale and reduced others up to 50% off, leaving puffer coats sub-$500, airy knits around $150, and everything from pajama sets to denim jackets still well-stocked.
Babaà gracefully segued from BFCM into its winter sale, still offering 20% off a prescient collection of knits—harlequin, as in this oversized roll-neck, is primed to be the preeminent pattern of 2024, and this shrunken crew neck helps the case that cobalt will soon usurp crimson as the think-pieciest color du jour.

If you’ve stuck it out ‘till now, you’ve earned an extra 25% off on the Tory Burch semi-annual sale—huge, puffy silver totes are $225; fold-able logo ballet flats are $105; and the extremely misguidedly named, pearl-and-gold-laden “Brutalist Pendant” necklace is down to $90.
Net-A-Porter’s added new lines to its sale, taking up to 80% off a smart curation of both classics, as in a ruby Patou blouse blooming like a winter rosebud, and deep-cut wild cards: a prom-ish but sophisticated Renaissance Renaissance gown with detachable tulle sleeves. A Cecilie Bahnsen off-the-shoulder mohair sweater is down to $280 from $1,400… we’ll leave it at that.
The password “thatsall” unlocks Maison Rogue’s private sale trove of pieces that get an extra 60% off at checkout. If you don’t understand the gravity of this offer, let’s just say that merino wool bralettes from Sandy Liang end up at $36, MNZ mules round down to $90, and snake print purses from Simon Miller are $71.
Take an extra 30% off the Shopbop sale with EXTRA30, bringing pieces like a Christopher Esber leather jacket and an Acne peacoat down to around half price.
Emme Parsons is offering 40% off select styles, including everything from barely-there strappy sandals to heeled Chelsea boots, suede loafers, and more.
Use BYE23 for an extra 15% off all the sale items at Sea New York, discounting a wool-blend blazer with a detachable belt that exemplifies the blazer renaissance we’ve waxed poetic upon in past Mag sends, a matching skirt with a wild, lace-trimmed thigh slit, and much more beyond the realm of suiting.

The Big 4 retailers are all concurrently running major discounts on their Prada and Miu Miu stock, with each sale promoted heavily in respective brand newsletters. Bergdorf is having a private sale that spotlights the brands, Moda Operandi takes 40% off the “sisters, not twins” brands with 400FFPM, Nordstrom shouted out P & MM in the latest reminder of its newly refreshed up to 50% off sale, and Saks cordially invited us to a shoe-oriented Prada & Miu Miu private sale—up to 40% off with SAKSSALE only via the link

The Cos sale has expanded, with up to 60% off tan pleated wool miniskirts (under $70), gigantic mohair scarves (under $100), a velvet blazer and matching trousers, and more FW hard-hitters.
The Nanushka seasonal sale cuts up to 50% off the prices of faux-leather puffer coats, velvet cut-out club dresses, satin pajama sets, and more wintry pieces with Slavic energy.
Take an extra 25% off the already-discounted popcorn-style tops; denim, robelike jackets; chartreuse knits; and more in Mara Hoffman’s winter sale.
Emilia Wickstead’s winter sale has accumulated new styles, including a host of satin-covered heels that pair seamlessly with the gowns already on offer.

Reformation is running an up-to-70%-off victory lap around brands that, despite their newbie buzz, can’t seem to shake off the OG purveyor of Hot Girl Clothes. A baby pink knit skirt set blooms at the sternum with a Liang-esque rosette, this slit-front maxi skirt challenges the Vaquera version at about a quarter of the price, and though this collared sweater costs $20 more than the lusted-after Gimaguas equivalent, it is hewn in 100% cashmere, while the latter is notably not.
La Garçonne just added an avalanche of new styles to its winter sale—there are brands you’ll know, like Dries Van Noten coming through with a $161 bubble-hemmed blouson and Lauren Mannogian with a gauzy black maxi dress for $153, but this sale might also remind you of the understated labels that are less likely to grace your screen, like Ter Et Bantine and Bergfabel.
The Zara sale has revved its engines, with structured blazers at $70, buckle loafers for $36, very Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina pleated black dresses for $46, and hundreds more doorbusters to sift through.
Co is doing a sale-on-sale, with an extra 20% off using EXTRA20 and a ton of pieces in creme de la creme materials, like a slew of virgin wool column dresses both strapless and long-sleeved; a loose-knit, oversized cashmere scarf; and a bouclé, collared cardigan in creamy mohair wool.
Take up to 50% off the sale section at Banana Republic, including items from the BR x Peter Do capsule like a tuxedo blazer with silk trim, and enjoy up to 75% off in the Gap sale section, with almost nothing rising above the $100 threshold.
The &Daughter winter sale shaves 30% off the prices of knits ranging from basic, camel-colored crewnecks in fine merino wool to powdery, shrunken Fair Isle vests and rugby-esque knit tops in thick, earthy stripes.
Kallmeyer has upped the ante on its sale, now 15% off all the weird-but-sophisticated attire like a chartreuse satin button-down with tie attached and a pleated off-the-shoulder dress in optical illusion-y hammered satin. The discount is taken in cart and includes sale-on-sale.
Ganni’s sale has expanded its purview and deepened to up to 50% off ripstop, ribbon-clad puffer coats and the iconic logo sweater, among a pile of other FW23 goods.
The Proenza Schouler sale continues with ice-dyed velvet dresses, ruched handbags with shapely handles, near-crotch-high spike-heeled boots, and more seasonal offerings in, literally, every color of the rainbow.
Beaufille’s pre-fall 23 sale is up to 50% off, and it’s full of prudent tan vests, dramatically twisted sweaters, and thoughtful jewelry like a $80 hoop earring adorned with a silver ginkgo leaf.
A selection of items from Commission are discounted for the winter, like an hourglass-shaped, very Vivienne Westwood button-down, a shifty layered skirt with a kind of perverted illusion of a fallen waistband, and a dress that’s a t-shirt draped in inky black satin.
Neous’ FW23 accessories are up to 50% off, including mules with pointy toes dipped in rhinestones at a diagonal and crossbody bags in camel secured with egg-shaped gold clasps.

Toteme’s private sale earned a spot in the Magasin chat last night, as an FYI from one knowing reader to the rest. The sale lassoes in the past three seasons and has appetizing deals on car coats, Mary Janes, and winter accessories.
Attersee added my favorite item in its entire collection to its end-of-year sale this morning—this combined poncho-scarf that’s so invitingly cozy but still reads where-did-this-‘80s-movie-character-get-that?
Aimé Leon Dore’s end of season sale features a striped wool topcoat, a spoof on the Yankees baseball jersey, a plaid cashwool scarf for just over $100, and a couple colors of plastic clog to rival the notorious Salter House pair for as low as $48.
Clean beauty curator Credo is offering free shipping on orders over $50—we’re fans of the Ilia Super Serum skin tint (as is everyone else), a Kosas set with both lip stick and oil that are marketed so sexually (“the Wet Set: Undressed”) we’re glad it’s too late to have to write it on our wish list, and Ceremonia Perfume de la Tierra, among other items on the handy BIPOC-owned business list Credo thoughtfully provides.
The Alex Mill sale takes 40-60% off a stack of favorites, like a very French, substantial, and stripey cotton long-sleeved t-shirt and warm khaki corduroy pants.

In a rare sale, Di Petsa takes up to 70% off a host of its Aphrodite-on-Adderall stock, including the famed “wet look” pieces like this burgundy dress that looks like it’s soaked in red wine and a one-shoulder top with faux lactation stains for $115, if you’re in the market.
Cecilie Bahnsen’s “seasonal treat” bestows upon us up to 50% off past season’s styles, the expected frou-frou dresses accompanied by the surprise of jagged-hemmed, cable-knit sweaters and a few styles of neoprene ballet flats.
The entire Comme Des Garçons Extended Universe is represented in the Dover Street Market AW23 sale, with sculptural Junya Watanabe ripstop gowns, frothy Tao tulle, Noir Kei Ninomiya platform Mary Janes, and more both within and without of the purview of Rei Kawakubo.
With ribbed Marine Serre beanies, JW Anderson graphic hoodies, and 8,000-plus more products from Acne, Nike, and other streetwear brands, the End. winter sale is the spot for hypey, but still genuinely cool, casuals.
Jacquemus, Zimmerman, and even wild cards like On Running are all accounted for and up to 60% off in the Browns winter sale.
Parachute is taking an extra 20% off its whole site, bringing total discounts on some of the bedding and homeware on offer up to 70% off.
Take an extra 20% off at checkout in the Christopher Esber end of season sale, full of FW23’s sculptural dresses, distressed graphic tees, and more.
The Saks Potts annual sale takes 40% off pinstripe blazers, gray trousers with faux shirt arms wrapped around the hips, a slew of leopard-print pieces, and more.
