166: Any deal worth a damn is on this spreadsheet
A living list of Black Friday deals that feel like "gets."
Earlier in this string of November sends, I accidentally coined the term “private sale week” (I had to Google it to make sure) to describe the period of those account-required, closed-doors discounts offered to shoppers before the pre-Black Friday deals roll out, which are, naturally, a whole different set than those we eventually see on Black Friday weekend. If you never noticed private sale week before, despite it shaping up about the same for the last few years, you’d be excused.
This entire month has been slippery business, even for a medium as responsive as a newsletter. I’m finding myself in the position of having published moot deals and discovering even better ones moments after a send goes out.
Mostly, it’s frustrating finding an insane shopping opportunity and not having a forum to share it immediately—I feel like I have to personally buy it to commemorate the rare occasion of its value-to-price ratio. The feeling that I must honor the deal. And frankly, one reason I started this newsletter in the first place was to put a stop to precisely that kind of behavior!
So. I’m making all the good Black Friday deals your problem now. More to the point: The Magasin team has put together a living Google Sheet of what we’re deeming the “best” items we find in our research—extraordinarily high discounts, rarely-on-sale brands, heavily price-tracked buzz items, etc. The only criteria is that it has to feel like a get.
Here’s the deals spreadsheet.
I’ve also added a second tab (upper left) tracking reader-submitted purchases. If you hit reply to this email and tell me what you bought (from anywhere! doesn’t have to be a Magasin tip-off), I’ll add it to the doc, so that other prospective buyers can have a look-see.
The spreadsheet will continue to grow with new deals added regularly throughout the day + week, but some early highlights include a truly stunning fine mesh tank from almost-never-on-sale Attersee (I am closely considering it for myself); the Emme Parsons loafers so many people had on their wishlists back when we did the fall shopping spreadsheet; an Agmes heart pendant and those Sophie Buhai Everyday earrings that are now back on sale (jewelry is hottt this season); an Altuzarra bucket bag—red, woven, would look fantastic across a gray coat—for only $265…I even found the Alaia mesh flats on sale.
I won’t keep you any longer. Enjoy the spreadsheet!
I may earn some money if you make a purchase through one of the links above. If you liked this post from Magasin, why not share it?
