069: What color is your Black Friday mood ring?
Shopping tips for people who care about Graydon Carter or go to Bushwick.
It feels weirdly like Black Friday happened weeks ago. And yet. Here we are.
While most of those overachiever sales we reported on earlier this week are still active (with some discounts dropping lower), there are dozens, verging on hundreds, of very good sales, all victims of information overload, yet to share.
Though there are many words and links to digest in this post—too many, frankly!—we’ve tried to serve you just the ones you’ll be most interested in, via an early-aughts-Cosmo-cum-smooth-brain-Buzzfeed-y list pegging you, the reader, as a dubiously oversimplified shopping “type.”
Consider this list a horoscope, a mood ring, the dregs in your afternoon tea.
There’s no quiz, but a quick litmus test to find your designation can be: Has Graydon Carter’s name been in your mouth lately? (Downtown.) When I said mood ring, did you think Bushwick? (Techno.) Do you own a pair of Plasticana clogs? (Slow.) How often do you “move to LA”? (Stretch.) And basically, uhh, just all of Gen Z I guess. (Out Loud.)
Scroll below the fold to be stereotyped and maybe shop a little. Oh, and keep an eye on the hand-selection of pieces in our deals database doc, already 150+ items strong.
