The way I shop Black Friday isn’t systematic as much as it is a jetstream of tabs escaping a loosely hierarchical network of sites, coupled with minimal click paths from my inbox or Instagram feed directly to check out. A lot gets lost in the process; Premier Cru discounts on items so wonderful and wantable they seem marked down as if by mistake (or fate).
So, this year, I’m doing something a bit different:
I’m logging all the best deals I find in a doc and sharing it with you here.
I think the spreadsheet is self-explanatory, but how it works is that when I see a deal worth sharing, I lob it onto the top of the list to keep the freshest items most accessible. I’ll also be deleting sell-outs and updating prices periodically. Items can be sorted by Category, Site, Sale Price, and Discount % by creating a filter view in the upper left. Simple!
I hold these to be some of the most buyable things on the internet right now, all hand-selected by me. And while the data does most of the talking, I have to surface a couple of items I’d hate to be missed: an astonishing blue Tekla bathrobe for $80, an investment-tier Margiela quilted coat and leather coat both for almost 80% off with BLACKFRIDAY, a Margiela dress you could easily get married in for almost 90% off, one, two, three The Row cashmeres for over 70% off, a three-pack of Kye Intimates’ wonderful briefs for under $20 apiece, and this pair of B Sides jeans I bought from the sale section with a further 40% off at checkout, bringing them down to $60ish.
Of course, these might sell out, or new sale items might blow them out of the water. But that’s what the doc is for, of course. Keep this tab open all week to follow my stream of consciousness as it chases the best things to buy this Black Friday.
I may earn some money if you make a purchase through one of the links above. If you liked this post from Magasin, why not share it?
