10:30a TWP — a polished, Western-meets-utilitarian collection with some really great work shirts, outerwear, and bolo tie accessories. The front row was stacked, I wish I could’ve eavesdropped on whatever Jenna Lyons, Kelly Rutherford, and Martha Stewart were chatting about. - AV

11a Tom Sachs Presents “31 Rue Cambon” — the artist remade his Centre Street gallery into a Chanel store, trading the tweed and leather métiers for construction techniques involving plywood and gold paint fed through medical syringes. There were chandeliers made of Citi Bike parts and ottomans with melted Legos for buttons. It’s a project about consumerism and desire, but it wasn’t anti-consumerist, per se: “You can’t be a critic of consumerism without being complicit in consumption yourself,” was the Tom zinger that stuck. Every skirt suit was dedicated to a famous wearer; there was Coco, Anna, Diana, Naomi, Christy, and a work in progress for A$AP.

12p Proenza Schouler show — the second (official) collection under CD Rachel Scott: She either found the groove that was missing last season or she’s finally being allowed to express her best ideas by corporate powers. It doesn’t look like old Proenza, but it feels like it, conjuring the mythical New York woman who knows it all and does it all—in heels, no less. - LR

1p Mel Usine presentation — so many thoughts from this presentation, not least of which that designer Stephen Biga is really fucking talented. His first collection was editorial, this one is more wardrobed with rough, rustic jersey separates and things that live between those worlds…e.g. a buttery jersey floor-length cape. Just as interesting was hearing about his business model, which is hugely private client-driven. I didn’t know you could do that as a small brand! Not easy, of course, to pull a healthy handful of big spenders out of thin air (or a résumé that includes designing for Gabriela Hearst), but it certainly cuts through the slog and despair that typically comes with being an emerging name. Very happy for him. - LR

2p RÙADH presentation — the denim brand from Jac Sullivan is growing up, with even more emphasis on leather, plus a proper store designed by Madelynn Hudson, complete with grail-tier furnishing from fellow Scott and design legend Charles Rennie Mackintosh. - LR

4p Kallmeyer show — she was once the face of the “real clothes” movement that defined NY, but lately she’s grown more ethereal—not whimsical—designery, concept-driven but no less wearable (quite the opposite). Saw that in the micro-beaded grid-pattern skirts, dramatic brushed-fringe, and of course How to Wrap Five Eggs…more on that below. Importantly, her first leather handbag, the Magazine bag, hits site today. - LR

4p Agmes presentation — the brand recently introduced Agmes Man, a men’s specific jewelry collection that includes chunkier multi-use chains, as well as smaller editions of brooches aimed toward the modern man’s wardrobe. - MK

4p Comme Si showroom visit — lost my mind over a forthcoming tiny, cropped baseball tee that I know I (and every fan of the brand) will wear to shreds. - AV

5p Puck “Fashion People” live recording — a meeting of the minds at Nine Orchard, hosted by Lauren Sherman. She was joined by Rory Satran of , Indré Rockefeller of The Circularity Project, and Elizabeth von der Goltz, CRO of Poshmark to talk all things “taste” for the pod. - AV

5p Andrew Dubow’s “Niccolò, Ned, Britt” Exhibition — a brief design interlude to see + finally meet art dealer Andrew Dubow, who also designed the tables displaying the artworks in the show. - LR

7p Tory Burch show — impressive array of references that felt like a very natural continuation of what was built up last season (not always a bad thing, to be consistent in a specific vision you stand by for a few cycles), fully putting embellishment at the center with adorned Renaissance knits and fluffy pompoms galore. - LR

7:30p Net-A-Porter cocktail at Straker’s — ass to elbows in the old Lucky Strike space, soon to open as the restaurant Straker’s, the first NY outpost of the London chain of the same name. Its founder, Thomas Straker, has 2.7mm IG followers for some reason. - LR

8:30p Nili Lotan party at Lucinda’s — swung by Lucinda Williams’s namesake honky tonk bar in Alphabet City to celebrate the Western Americana-tinged fall collection, complete with a performance by Lucinda herself. Yee-haw! - AV

8:30p Marc Jacobs Beauty party — awash with influencers / opportunists who were there for the oodles of free products presented on little platters like food, even the new Nude Awakening concealer (I snagged two). - MK

• The most remarkable, heart-hitting choice I’ve seen so far is Kallmeyer’s “How to Wrap Five Eggs” bags. I recognized the style immediately, because the book of the same name is one of my most prized tomes. The Japanese craft book advises on, yes, different methods with which one can use bamboo, hemp twine, and other materials to package and carry eggs. Its cover image is the one recreated for the runway in piles of light-catching beaded strings (and yes, the goods inside are real).

• There’s a floppy-leather-men’s-shoe-playful-sock combo emerging as a seasonal microtrend (or perhaps a macro one, menswear doesn’t have that many channels to exploit): First, I spotted my chic French Canadian friend Loic Cardinal in a great Dries pair with red socks, then I rode the Subway with NYT Styles reporter Jacob Gallagher, who wore the Jil Sander Hood shoe with a green sock. I commented on their Chukka-ness; he dubbed them the “Ozempic Wallabee.”

• My non-fashion pit stop into Andrew Dubow’s heads-in-conversation gallery show (my name for it, not his) yielded the kind of info I get DMed about the most: his paint color. It’s Benjamin Moore’s Navajo White, a warm neutral that plays nice with the beaming rays of sun through his 14th floor windows and makes a thoughtful background for the art on display.

• Not fashion week necessarily, but of interest to most of you reading this: The Uniqlo U FW26 collection marks its 10th anniversary today, and its final one, too, if you can stomach the thought. End of an era, folks. A decade of eclectic, attentive fitting pants and outerwear that leaves nothing to be desired, cribbed from co-creative directors Christophe Lemaire (a one-time Hermés CD) and Sarah-Linh Tran’s main line Lemaire at revolutionarily democratic price points. The fleece short jacket, coated blouson (the dark grey is the ideal non-black staple color), and short wool blend coat make for their own winter capsule to complement your existing wardrobe.

• getting good mileage out of a fantastic vintage stick brooch this season, which he says has the added advantage of holding open the collar of a polo shirt, rather than allowing it to flop closed and read too literal (the diamonds also help assuage those assumptions).

• Catalogue New York debuted the day before the day before the official calendar kicked off (that’s today, btw) with a Phoebe Philo-ish picture grid that’s not yet shoppable but deeply enticing. I’m seeing a top of skin, suiting in a McQueen way, and hacked lace slips.

• Power talent agent (and my agent) Susanna Friedman just started telling me about this “amazing nightgown store” she discovered inside an antique mall in Midtown when model Stella Duval chimed in to say she bought her wedding dress there. It’s called Illisa’s Vintage Lingerie, and I’m told Illisa is kind of rude and bossy in just the way you would want the dame of an obscure nightie shop to be. It sounded familiar when she mentioned it, and it looks like covered this same spot as the place “where Anthony Vaccarello [shops] for silk nightgowns” last December.

  

• Another Susanna rec: handmade-in-Greenpoint Joswick jeans, which she picked up at L’Ensemble (quite possibly the best merchandised store in New York). They are of the same exhaustive ilk as Olga Basha, with like-minded Japanese denim, and the fit is apparently in the balance of loose yet trim / flattering. There’s one pair left at L’Ensemble, and I hear prices for the jeans are soon to go up 30%.

• A group that included Rachel Iwaniec (wholesaler of Colleen Allen, Savette, and Aubero who just got her Vogue flowers) and Fforme’s Michael Ragen spilled out of the Nordstrom cocktail at Marcel on their way to celebrate the opening of Taste, a new vintage store by Paige Rubin and James Morua located within WSA. It’s the brand’s second location after Melrose Place within Ending Soon Studios.

• Parties I didn’t go to for launches that happened anyway: the Ugg x Willy Chavarria collab, and the Celine x Reebok collab.

• I got to talking with some menswear friends, specifically Nordstrom Men’s Fashion Director Jian DeLeon and merchandising mastermind Brandon Mahler, and the subject of Supreme’s collab with Japanese brand A.Presse came up. Both are extremely well-connected with plugs in high places, and yet neither was able to secure a pre-order for today's drop. A leather jacket and M-65 jacket are available on Supreme’s website, though the tees, oxfords, and suit have sold out.

Happy first day of NYFW, or for the West Coasters, being a day closer to Contrapposto singularity (the aesthetic headquarters launched fragrance, bet you didn’t see that coming!!).

I’m jetting to Rachel Comey in a few hours, and then heading into a night of cocktails and parties and shows you’d have been lucky not to plan something for your brand on—one BFA photographer I heard from said they had 70 (!) events on their coverage calendar tonight alone. I’m surfing the wave to finally go to Marcel and then promptly gunning it back downtown for Coach’s 85th anniversary show.

What’s new

• WeHo-elite aesthetic dermatology practice Contrapposto launched its debut fine fragrance line this morning, and it’s a trio of scents with sculptural bottles that mimic the California clinic’s windows (they’ll look fantastic as objects on display). Co-founder Nick Axelrod-Welk dubs the roasted-seashell accord and Somali frankincense-scented Lubanite “the most Magasin” for its ability to “become a part of your outfit or personality.” I (Laura) have been secretly wear-testing the scent alongside Melting Flowers and Musc Pétille for the last month, each crafted by a different legendary parfumeur and have had to, on more than one occasion, break embargo to gush to my complimenter about the cleverness of the line.

• We’re getting the first bits of Phoebe Philo’s Collection E, in all of its chocolate-y glory (see: the Paper tote, bronze parachute leather shirt, and slouchy high boot, each in a different shade of brown). There are also some wacky accessories like a $1,250 silver sunglasses chain, and a leather anorak (?) made of a nappa fabrication so thin it resembles tech fabric (it’s fabulous).

• FW26 will be a remarkable season for minimalists who want their clothes to resemble shapes in a geometry book. We’re seeing the first pieces from Jil Sander AW26 hit e-commerce, like the trapezoidal-shouldered Mikado top and Kante flap bag, as well as some optical illusion-y pieces from (mainline) Lemaire FW26 like the trompe l’oeil merino blend scarf and plinth-like crease sleeve boots. There are also some new FW26 pieces available only to Toteme’s email subscribers, like the silky shearling coat in ginger and tent-like sculptural leather skirt. Even the pre-collection from Fillippa K’s AW26 (who ran so Toteme could…also run, in an adjacent lane) has a more tucked-in type of geometry, like these loose-fit and fully pleated trousers, or a the aptly named hourglass vest.

• In a spectacular stab at a comeback, AllSaints launches its first unisex collection under the keen eye of Creative Director Aaron Esh, and the brand finds a boot and rally in the latest pieces. There’s also just the right amount of that classic Esh quirkiness, which has situated him as one of London’s virtuosos, in asymmetrical basics like the Cruz cardigan and Martel merino wool sweater.

• There’s also: the first-ever Kallmeyer collab (and one with Nike, at that), a take on the tennis centre shoe; beloved bookstore 0fr. Paris’s collab with Zara with some truly bad graphics that try and subsequently fail to reheat EDL’s nachos; the release of the Jamie Haller traditional trench and the brand’s first foray into ribbed cotton basics (elbow-sleeve tee supremacy!); a pointy-toed and semi-witchy AW26 drop from Neous; edition 37 from extreme cashmere featuring a jacquard-knit cashmere bomber that refuses to remove its foot from Maya’s neck; the anticipated release of Gap’s five-bag GapBag collection designed by Reed Krakoff, including a kangaroo-pocketed hoodie tote; and Emmanuelle Perrin’s debut bag for Perrin Paris, Le Pilote—whose ergonomic handle pairs well with its calfskin construction.

Men’s releases

• It’s the first delivery of Carter Young FW26, and it resembles the wardrobe of your alt undergrad crush—cool leather jacket and flannel shirt included—if he knew what a bias cut was. By that, we mean there are garment dyed football tees (men deserve some elevated basics as a treat!), along with some selvedge denim and a true mid-rise cotton twill chino.

• Is it just us, or has Studio Nicholson been on a massive roll recently? The brand has always been fab, but certain elements—like this mineral green suit and this elevated sportswear jacket called the Wickett—take it there, especially when styled with those little Bram scarf-snoods.

• There’s also: Brand spotted—Maru Mori’s 100% mercerised cotton boxers; the technical-meets-fashion Virginia Watermoc by Pharrell Williams for adidas Originals, catering to all your free-solo needs; and a curated-for-him collection of Agmes’s best unisex jewelry.

Home releases

• What can we say, Northern European wood furnishings trend as blond as their people: Audo Copenhagen’s newest collection for fall demonstrates as much. There are pieces named after arctic birds, like the penguin wooden lounge chair and puffin dining table, as well as some more decorative fare, like the admiral portable lamp and Mauro leather seat cushion.

• There’s also: the UFO-like Louis Poulsen Reframe pendant lamp, designed by famed interiors firm Yabu Pushelberg; a collection of museum-worthy design at 1stDibs from original Niemeyer chaises to a $1.78 million dollar fossilized crocodile specimen; and the arrival of Nordic Knots’s The Grand collection inspired by the graphic lines found on tennis courts.

What’s on sale

• We’re one day away from a new collection for Tory Burch hitting the runway, but you can get the best of seasons past on sale right now. The accessories offering is enticing for anyone looking to make some fall acquisitions, like the heeled Chelsea ankle boots (now $289, down from $458) and the ladylike small Robinson shoulder bag, with discounts varied based on colorway.

Happy Labor Day, and welcome back to High Touch. Today’s guest is Kate Young, the celebrity and editorial stylist even your non-fashion friends know to admire and fear. We connected at a dinner a few weeks ago when she shared some strong thoughts about the ‘taking things into your own hands’ approach a lot of people have around health these days (even in the pages of High Touch…). She puts it best when she tells me, “I believe in science.”

There are a lot of reasons to listen to today’s episode with Kate, not least of which to hear about her network of doctors and the changes she’s made to her lifestyle in order to feel this good. But also, she looks great—exactly how she wants to look, not a generic version of great—and is very candid about what she’s done and does to achieve that. Plus, she’s genuinely laugh-out-loud hilarious. Like, I was losing it on the rewatch and I told her as much.

At-Home Products

Makeup

I spend a lot of my time with clients getting ready for events. I have to sit opposite them so they don’t turn their head to talk to me. I end up watching them get their makeup done. It’s made me obsessed because you can see the differences in what people do, the differences in what people use, the difference it’s making. I do think it changes everything. The Ciele sunscreen tint, it’s so good. I love Rhode bronzer and Rhode blush. There’s a mascara for eyebrows, GrandeBROW 2-in-1, it makes your eyebrows grow but also tints them. I line the upper waterline of my eyes with NYX, the cheapest waterproof. The Chanel waterproof is amazing, Hung Vanngo makes one that’s amazing. I don’t have very many eyelashes, so if I line the upper waterline, it gives the illusion that there’s a solid lash line there.

Skincare / SPF

I use Anthelios SPF 50 with Mexoryl. It’s a flat rectangular bottle that is spectacular. If I’m going out to run or walk, or I’m not doing anything where I need to look more presentable, I wear that. If I’m going to the beach or going to be outside, I wear that under the Ciele. I use Drunk Elephant cleanser in the shower in the morning, it’s so simple and it’s just great. And I use their Vitamin C serum, which I know there are more modern ones on the market. That’s my favorite. I use Augustinus Bader, The Rich Cream, and at night I use Tatcha cleansing oil to take off makeup or sunscreen. I use a DNA repair serum from Neova, which is supposed to cure DNA damage from the sun, and I’ve been using that for two years; I have the serum for my body, too. I love the idea of repairing all the damage. At night, I use Altreno, which is a prescription tretinoin.

I love Korean skincare. I don’t do well with essential oils and fragrance and traditional ‘rich lady’ products make me break out. All the Korean stuff is unscented and non-reactive. I love Torriden. I have their Dive In serum. I use their masks. Biodance makes amazing masks. I can’t sleep in them, but I’ll wear them if I’m working from home because you have to wear them for four hours. Anua makes an azelaic acid serum—apparently the retinoid and azelaic acid combination is the secret to beauty, so I’m working on that. At night I use an estrogen cream, which I use on my neck, backs of my hands, and my under eyes. Originally my dermatologist prescribed it, but then Linda Wells told me about Alloy, which is a very nice texture, so I use that.

Haircare + scalp health

My hair is very bleached, so I use a lot. I really like K-18. I feel like that’s been amazing for my hair not breaking. Oribe, their Gold Lust shampoo and conditioner are sort of my standby. I really like a mask once a week or something. I’ll put it on in the morning, slick my hair back, leave it all day, rinse it out. I’ll use whatever I get for free, but I got an Olaplex mask and it’s excellent. It’s super heavy. I like the Roz hair oil, it smells really good and makes my ends really nice. Chris McMillan makes this amazing little mascara wand that you can get edges with if your hair’s back. I don’t do anything for scalp care. I bleach my hair every six weeks and my scalp is often bleeding after.

The reader report we sent out yesterday found that the top four brands cited as “on their radar” (named 15+ times) were The Row, Toteme, Khaite, and Dries Van Noten (and I want to point out again how meaningful it is to have DVN rank among this cohort). The second-tier brands (named 8-12x) were Róhe, Kallmeyer, Celine—a unanimous pick from our expert contributors—Jamie Haller, Emily Dawn Long, and Phoebe Philo.

The most-shopped site was The RealReal by a meaningful degree, followed by MyTheresa and Net-A-Porter. A broad range of trend call-outs counted cummerbunds, purple, embellishments, and skinny jeans.

Of all 700+ products submitted to the sheet:

• The Row’s Caden Loafers and Jamie Haller’s Crease Jeans are tied as the most recurring single products

• After them come The Row jeans, The Row Gala pants, Róhe Velvet Mandarin Jacket, Aflalo jeans, Still Here jeans, Flore Flore tanks, Agolde jeans, and High Sport pants

• There were handful of instances where one person ID’ed something on their wishlist that another person had just bought: Comme Si knee socks, Source Unknown Herman wrap trousers, Arakii pencil skirt, The Park scoopneck bodysuit, Cara Cara wool cashmere top, Nakedvice leather jacket, Repetto jazz shoes

• The most-listed category were shoes—129 of them

  • And then sandals for some reason??

• The most-listed item type—57 of them—are button-down shirts (many from Toteme and Comme Si)

• Bags are mostly totes, Métier among them. And raffia bags carried over from Summer, from Tory Burch, Dragon Diffusion, and EDL

• The most ordered-from item (i.e. generated the most orders, not necessarily for the product linked) was a landing page for Bottega Veneta bags on The RealReal

Here’s the “spreadsheet.”

You’ll notice, once you click through the link above, that while this information may have been published as a Google Sheet in years past, it’s no longer a spreadsheet at all. If you remember last year’s fall shopping spreadsheet, so overstuffed wth information and color-coding it was barely legible, you’ll understand me having to do something to enhance the UX. Basically, I made it an app.

100+ readers took the survey and shared some 700ish products, and we’ve organized them into a platform that you can (finally!) sort by price, discount, new-in, A-Z, and editor’s picks. You can further narrow down by brand, category, or see only items them have been actually purchased (or wishlisted, or carried over from summer of the previous fall). I’m probably over-explaining this, and if you’ve ever navigated a multi-brand online retailer (truly how did you end up here if you haven’t), you’ll understand how to use the “spreadsheet” right away.

All five experts name Michael Rider’s Celine. Amanda says, “I love Michael Rider’s world and feel so connected to it. We do not talk enough about how he’s an American designer from the East Coast at the head of a french fashion house. When have we last seen this? Marc Jacobs?” For Zoe, it’s “fantasy window shopping.”

All five name The RealReal—plus other vintage, Kate shops at Scout and Desert Vintage—where Booth is hunting a suede Bottega, and which Amanda calls her “shopping mall.”

Jalil thinks “we are going to be drenched in purple this fall, I’m seeing so many grape hued pieces in the market and I’m itching to take a bite!” Amanda predicts “more pale yellow, purple, brown leather and madras.” For Kate, “prints and special fabrics and embroideries feel exciting again. I’m a little bored by monochromatic luxury.” It’s giving post-beige.

It’s INTERESTING to see where the experts agree and disagree with the survey taker-ship at large. Like, very few of the above mentioned any of the four leading brands from this greater temp check—The Row, Toteme, Khaite, and (a new mate to this familiar trifecta?) Dries Van Noten—and yet they all named tier-two brand Celine.

Reader findings, generally, were fascinating to me. Like, what do you mean Chanel and Emily Dawn Long live in the same appeal bracket (not actually surprising to me, TBH), Sorbara’s and Earl IRL hold to same weight as FWRD, and cummerbunds coexist with skinny jeans?

All of the new fall collections that dropped over the weekend reached me while I was in Mexico’s Nayarit Peninsula, so my prevailing thought to almost all of them was, “if you say so.”

Now I’m on a flight back home battling an inbox full of NYFW scheduling conflicts so I’m finally willing to concede that there may be a reality in which people do wear various heavy cloths on their bodies.

Premier among them are Colleen Allen’s first fall pieces, which editors have been waiting for since her pre-order event last fashion week. Her sparse, strong designs always set the tone for the following run of New York events: who’ll be wearing what to which occasion, exactly what a collection should mean for a season. Her particular genre of sexy—cobwebby lace, high slits—mingles with heavy, effortful outerwear in plush velvet. Contemporary and glamorously of-another-era all at once.

What’s new

• The first drop from Colleen Allen’s FW26 collection is live now, and its the stuff of autumnal romance. Why not go a little goth this fall, with gorgeous options like a draped ruffle blouse in black lace or a velvety tailored gown complete with a bustle at the back? If that feels like too much of a commitment, the new ribbon-strapped bustle bag achieves the same vibe, sub-$1k.

• Tom Ford FW26 just hit Net-A-Porter, and it’s hitting us harder than it did on the runway. Haider Ackermann understands sexy: the lace-trimmed stretch-tulle mini dress is styled in funky layers with a striped silk shirt, mohair-blend sweater, and croc leather pumps (with gloves, too). Even shoes like the croc-effect leather stiletto boots are merchandised with the matching skirt, available for pre-order.

• Fall shoes are getting a bit of the freak treatment, even the minimal ones. See the Colleen pump from this season’s Khaite, a pointy-vamped, curved block pump, as well as the Tory Burch lock loafer, a distinctly TB take on the smoking slipper; the cheetah spots colorway borders on perverse (complimentary).

• We’ve got the B Sides first drop for FW26, and it’s every bit as elevated—as in the reworked madras vest, each constructed with vintage denim, and the Japanese denim and cotton shift—as it is strategic, seen in the nuanced shades of the overdyed painter pants and snap cardigans.

• RE/DONE and Hanes have partnered for 10 years, but the duo is introducing some new, extra-considered fabrics for this fall season. There’s the Sadie henley in organic cotton and knot-detailed rib tank, as well as the heritage boatneck longsleeve tee, made with recycled cotton jersey.

• For real, mind the Gap. Zac Posen has cooked up some great khaki for GapStudio, the most notable perhaps being this excellently tailored herringbone peacoat.

• There’s also: a limited-edition Gohar World x Asics sneakerina shoe; Phillip Lim’s launch of shirting project PlayLoveWin; La Piscine, a woolen, slow fashion collection just in at No. 6; and new French blue workwear available for pre-order at Shaina Mote.

Men’s releases

• Heritage fabric brand Thomas Mason teams up with NYC’s own Alex Mill for this capsule of striped shirts. Combining the Mill shirt silhouette with Thomas Mason Italian cotton, these pieces come in five striped colorways for some candy striper prep and classic shirting swagger.

• Jacques introduces the double-face cashmere bomber, a sweet little Italian cashmere number positioned for rotation between (or with, weather permitting) your hoodies. It’s got a soft drape, oversized pockets, and a two-way zipper for several styling opportunities.

Home releases

• The Zara Home x Mary Lennox collection is all about indoor plants, decorative or otherwise. The selection includes a variety of vases, from tiered stoneware to small faceted brass. There are also some housekeeping items, like matching pruning shears and obelisk-like metal watering cans.

• There’s also: Some new classics-based pieces from Audo Copenhagen for fall; and Tekla’s first bedspread, a buffalo plaid topper for your freshest cotton duvets.

What’s on sale

• There’s an extra 40% off at Bergdorf Goodman, on top of a lineup of pieces up to 75% off. Styles to keep an eye out for: a lot of Brunello Cucinelli (this appliqued cotton blend shirt gets down to $791 from $3,300), some great select Jil Sander (this double-breasted blazer is sub-$1k), and some of our favorite Dries from last season.

• At the St. Agni exclusive end-of-season sale, not everything is actually last season. There’s 20% off an edit of curated back-in-stock items like the pleat loop pants priced at $600, as well as pieces from collections past, like the teddy coat which gets down to $672 from $1,200 after the additional discount.

• The Mansur Gavriel Labor Day sale starts now,. This is the kind of sale best suited for color-blockers and coordinators. Some potential pairings: the Gaia shoulder bag and Mari sandal, or the limited-edition Pascucci bag and matching dream ballerina flat, each set totaling sub-$550.

• There’s an MKDT studio sale reaching some strong discounts, archive-style. Some pieces are 50% off, like the Pinola-Atelier pants in baby’s breath, and outerwear like the Julia jacket. Most stunning is the speckled wool suit in brown melange, also 50% off (it’s like getting the pants and jacket for the original retail price of just one).

• There’s also: The Staud endless summer sale (the beach-printed pieces hurt the most, RIP summer); 25% off sitewide at Aureum, including the new lizard collection; the B Sides end-of-summer sale, undoubtedly a wonderful opportunity for striped shirting like the bestselling Nolan; and 21 days of beauty deals from Ulta, featuring rotating 50% off discounts on a weekly basis.

• Two shoe sale moments, for the rough and tumble man in your life. Take 25% off sitewide at Keen (Targhees included), and a very men’s-centric sale at Ancient Greek Sandals, with 50% off end-of-summer styles like the leather Thiseas and Andreas sandals.

Home sales

• Now this is an extra good one: There’s 25% off everything at Design Within Reach, with very few items left out (which unfortunately includes my [Maya’s] dream lamp, the Maap W2 designed by Erwan Bouroullec, which is 10% off). This is an opportunity to snag some fresh-out-the-packaging designer pieces that rarely see a discount, like some Cassina nested side tables or a Hay sofa.

Hellooo, welcome to High Touch. In this month’s edition of In Vivo, me and my group chats cover a lot of ground from low, medium, and high-touch endeavors to squarely medical concerns. Vesper Ireland talks mineral absorption at hot springs on the side of the highway in rural Colorado, Gray Broderick—our resident Parisian lifestyle correspondent—is back with a report on Sant Roch, the city’s most talked-about sauna, and I share what I think is the most brilliant bang for your buck when it comes to microneedling with PRP.

Today, we also have our first anonymous contributor (I know this person personally but they have chosen not to identify themselves here), discussing their experience with kidney stone removal. It’s a degree removed from our usual beat, but feels just as important and likely relatable to readers who’ve struggled to get a diagnosis, jumped from second to third opinions and ultimately to the ER, and felt confused about pain and discomfort amid an incredibly healthy lifestyle.

Wellness in the American West brings forth a landscape of extremes; holistic, often esoteric practices on one side, and artificial advancements on the other.

Deep in the West, away from the 5G, LTE (really any form of cell service) that connects us to constant self-assessment and the latest treatments or tweakments, there is a primitive version of wellness so raw and real that it feels unknown to modern society.

Enter: the geothermally heated, naturally mineral-rich pools seated in Coloradan backcountry. The original Epsom salt bath. Earth providing the blueprint for what we know and love as the Jacuzzi.

On a recent trip to Aspen (with Laura), we sought out a pristine roadside hot spring. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a small group of other travelers, clean but rudimentary surroundings, and deep, steamy pools. While most springs have been built around and “resortified,” this one felt like an untouched treasure.

I sat in the mineral-laden, 100°+ pools, in awe of the constant rushing stream of hot water, and eased into a state of relaxation usually only achievable via 90-minute massage.

Aside from the mental-health benefits of daytripping to a remote locale, magnesium, sodium, manganese, calcium, and lithium were among the trace minerals that we absorbed transdermally during our soak. Although some sources say that the benefits pale in comparison to an at-home magnesium bath, I felt otherwise after our experience. Perhaps the consistent grounding, fresh mountain air, and the straight-from-the-source minerals all blend together as a powerful, restorative force.

I left wondering when I might experience something like it again. There was nothing to upgrade, optimize, or improve upon; no amount of money could manufacture what the land had already perfected. It simply existed, untouched and complete, there for us to enjoy.

Next week, the fall shopping spreadsheet goes live (you still have time to take the survey here). And then, basically immediately after that, it’s Fashion Week. Where did summer go. It felt like…a little Europe, New York malaise, some Americana, and then it’s just over? Is that all there is, to a fire?

Brank Rank will capture this officially when its time comes, but I am thinking about the pieces that defined this year’s freest, most undressed season subjectively. I think, from beginning to end, the Literary Sport x Xero Shoes collab was the most emblematic single item—I’m thinking of toting my own pair around Paris while we tried finding each other in between appointments, styled by as a bag charm for his The Row Park, me wearing them with trousers around Manhattan and climbing on rocks at swimming holes in Colorado—they sold out instantly (but did you know you could buy a DIY sandal kit from Xero?). And separately, the brands crushed; Andrew J.S. mentioned both in the mini shopping quiz I gave him for the Magasin redesign recap.

Emily Dawn Long was the other relentless force. Her t-shirt pop-up at Men’s Week landed Bug Mes and Spoiled Boys on cities-full of hotties, inclusive of Kaia Gerber and Jeremy Allen White (who also showed up at her Paris Disco). She’s up for the CFDA this year. She can’t stop throwing parties. She makes Meta Glasses seem cool. She launched the best brand Substack that exists (at ). When I stopped in to see the new Aflalo, chief brand officer Emily Pero was wearing EDL and looking amazing. She made a shirt just for Emilys! I’ve seen it on and Emily Newnam. She’s opening a (not so) secret (anymore) store in LA. She’s become one of those people I am constantly wondering how she gets everything done in a day. In an early skim of fall shopping survey responses, her name comes up a lot.

Still Dries. As previously established, everything is Dries now, and Dries itself just keeps getting better. I wore it to a wedding and the link to my sold-out-past-season dress is the most-clicked, most-ordered thing from August.

And some mini mentions: H-O-R-S-E Sport (everyone on our Substack Island St. Martin trip packed theirs), Still Here (keeps opening stores, and I keep spotting it on cute girls), and Kallmeyer (a wedding is a great occasion for an impromptu fashion show).

What’s new

• The first chapter of Fform’s FW26 is now available, and all eyes are on the outerwear. (The Demi coat is extra fab.) Plus: there’s column-like draping in the cherry-red Kahlo dress, textured-striped and fringe-hemmed organza skirts like the Paige for your ivory fixation, and the waist-sculpting Noah coat, which could also function as a dress if you try hard enough!

• It’s a very major time for accessories that have a sense of humor, geometrically. Lemaire introduces the Helmet bag, a grained leather hobo shaped like les masques used in fencing. The latest Khaite x Oliver Peoples sunglasses, the 1965C, offer a tilted scale, slightly oversized silhouette of those traditional mid-century rectangular shades.

• Very simple: it’s the J.Crew Rollneck, but cropped. The new version of the classic shrinks in at the waist with a great vertical ribbed knit detail, though the quarter-zip leans a hair too trend conscious, in Maya’s opinion. (She also would like to note that Emma Chamberlain’s campaign has her about to cop the Mazie blue color.)

• Maria McManus has exceeded the mark with her FW26 collection which, now on e-comm, we see is also well-priced for the materials. The wrap skirt trouser, ladder stitch crewneck (recycled cashmere and cotton), and cropped Japanese corduroy jacket are each sub $1k, and a lot of the shirting is sub-$500.

• Meet Koshik: a new contemporary footwear brand lacing together history and leathercraft. Based in Armenian style, the heritage Areni mule takes inspiration from a traditional leather shoe found in the region’s Areni cave, hence the name.

• There’s also: The well-rounded and very Western new release from Guest In Residence, the knitwear brand creative directed by Gigi Hadid, with a campaign co-starring her sister, Bella; the minimalist and wonderfully color-blocked first fall drop from Ossou; the ethically girly Cou Cou x Sandy Liang capsule (the days of the week undies are already sold out); part one of fall by Donni, with some great kick flares, may we add; and the restock of the animalian Dolly and Bambi jackets by Carelli.

Home releases

• Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s home decor brand Memoire is now available at Moda Operandi in an exclusive trunk show. The collection, based on turning personal home baubles into design objects, is featured nearly in full on the e-tailer, from leather picture frames and notebooks to candles.

What’s on sale

• This is the hat trick for Italist sale mentions, and a delicious one at that: the private sale, featuring over 25,000 items, is officially on. Most exciting beyond the Gucci Jackies and Celine blazers is the Saint Laurent selection. There are a lot of pieces from seasons ago that stand the test of time, like this pink metallic disco dress 75% off, and pleated silk blouse 67% off. We recommend filtering by designer and having a field day.

• It’s the Posse end of the summer sale, with 30% off at checkout. The best value really emerges with co-ords that can have extra longevity beyond the matchy-matchy in your own wardrobes, like the pleated Esme cami and trouser, or blue-and-brown stripy Nadine top and skirt.

• The Frame end of season sale acts as a liaison between summer and fall. There’s a dizzying volume of discounts, so it’s best to approach this one with a mission: good staples via denim (duh) like the cuffed hang jeans and easy blouses like the silk balloon are a solid bet for something to endure the seasons. Oh, and there’s an extra 30% off the whole sale section at checkout.

• So, the Attersee-Attersee sale may be over, but there’s a branded warehouse sale edit online now via 260 Sample Sale and it functions like an ICYMI. Some pieces are actually 90% off, like the silk Silo top, and there are a lot of jackets like the washed canvas Quarry (80% off, btw) also in nearly full size runs.

• There’s also: the tropical-relaxed vacation ease of Alemais now on sale 30–40% off; some great, statement-making florals on sale at Rachel Antonoff; and up to 50% off at Re/Done, from baby tees to loose-fitting denim.

Home sales

• The Leesa Labor Day sale has begun early, with 30% off these GreenFlex Foam mattresses. This one is a true utility-based home furnishing adventure; best to take inventory of you and yours’s bed ages, and perhaps take advantage of the 30% off for a guest room or two—the Legend is a legendary hybrid, for those curious.

• It really is mattress season: Coyuchi is holding its semi-annual sale with 20% off all bed essentials. That includes the natural REM mattress and all the different fabrications of the sheet sets, from the relaxed linen to refined cotton percale.

• There’s also: up to 25% off at Boll & Branch as a little pregame for Labor Day sales on bedding bundles; and the cobalt blue Lazy Jamie TV tray, now 40% off.

I’m in Aspen! As is everyone else, my Baader-Meinhof bias tells me. I came here as a fishing WAG and aspiring hiker / hot springer, but don’t think that means I won’t report on what—despite the ability of its current population to put together an outfit would have you believe—is a pretty noteworthy shopping town.

Two stores, right across from each other, tell the story best:

The historical Gorsuch, est. 1962, has the exceptional curation of niche Bavarian brands at posh prices—the leathers from Meindl (est. 1683) were heavy and sexy, like the Arny’s of Deutschland; Von Dornberg Munich iterated traditional German tailoring in funky silks (Destree-esque) and made a great barn jacket that shows they’re with it; Alpine Couture offers a goat suede jacket with folky trachten embroidery, a Déhanche-y ponyhair belt, and a charming cardigan with hand-embroidered florals peaking out from a back pleat. Also represented: the requisite Brunello, Iris Von Arnim, and Herno of any self-respecting luxury ski town, likewise the Ginori and William Yeoward Crystal for the interiors whistle, and a dash of Etro and 100% Capri that capture their clients’ global vacation tastes.

Across Gondola Plaza, Performance Ski is a heavyweight in hip and not-too-serious labels that speak to the new generation of creative custodians of Aspen’s arty origins. The bright, stoner cashmere of Elder Statesman are a given, plus a nice chunk of Calle Del Mar knits and mix-and-matchers, Napapuri kantha coats, a fantastic locally designed Nick Fouquet leather satchel, Akki Chan upcycled silk “aloha shirts”…PS also has an in-house label that includes a canvas cowboy hat produced in the same factory as Miu Miu’s structurally identical ones that I found irresistible and bought after a one-glass-of-wine lunch (the altitude makes everything more intense here).

BOTH stores featured heavily on a brand I’ve written about previously, Frauenschuh. It’s a friend’s family’s label that I rediscovered in St. Moritz, a multi-generational Austrian operation that began as a leather factory, and which my friend Lauren—the once-knitwear designer at Dion Lee—joined a couple of years back to modernize.

Based on what I saw at Gorsuch and Performance Ski, Frauenschuh has a bit of Tory Burch-syndrome going on, its classic (basic) styles appearing in more conservative spaces and its trendier, more experimental direction showing up where the cosmopolitan under-40 set shops. Some of those latter pieces really floored me; a shaved shearling coat with a laser-etched floral motif and fur collar, a swingy cropped funnel-neck jacket in supple leather and shearling. A less-trodden alternative to those considering Nour Hammour or Yves Salomon.

What’s new

• Kallmeyer FW26 is here, and on e-comm, the collection reads just as rich as the runway. There’s 50 shades of wool suitable for whatever weather autumn may throw at us, like the flannel Joel pleated trouser and Kenna mini skirt, featherweight Cairo pant, and silk-wool Leona cardigan. Favorites include the virgin wool Marlie shawl jacket and (leather) Park gloves—we’re partial to the Bordeaux.

• The mid-price luxury brands are hopping in their respective bags: Sézane enters into the world of leather goods with a full collection ranging from suede totes to hobos to leather shoulder carries (the Maxi Solal is already sold out), all under the $600 mark. Loulou de Saison introduces the Falco travel bag, a large leather fold-over situation fit for any weekend trip. This morning, Aureum launched 4 new versions of the Cassandra clutch in sleek lizard-embossed leather.

• Cristaseya Edition #27 is live at Vestige, featuring menthe-colored rollneck sweaters, double-pleated crepe trousers, and a lot of hand-made shirting (as usual). The brand just gets it in the sense that the white cotton pants are made to look like a fashion version of stripmall Judo uniforms (they are also called the Judo pant) and the Shetland knits, whether gilet or cardigan, have just the right brushed yarn texture.

• COS PF26 is all that and a bag of chips, and a stand-collar jacket, and perhaps an ascot. There’s a lot of play between checks in the outerwear and stripes in the shirting, as well as a clear insistence that the more masculine straight-leg denim and boxy v-neck sweater underlayer isn’t going anywhere this fall.

• Parisian brand Turn just dropped its City capsule to the delight of hoodie-and-weird-skirt enthusiasts such as myself (Maya). What they mean: the crepe skirt in bronze styled with microshorts underneath, white Havaianas, and the pistachio-green Pistachio hoodie. There’s also a beaded lobster brooch, which proposes some Miu Miu nostalgia.

• There’s also: the Jeffrey Campbell shoeless A-pieds, a confounding knockoff in the manner of the Chanel shoeless trend; the new Attersee FW26 collection, one predicated on the cobalt-blue-wine-red color palette; the very vintage (and technicolor) Graphite Tennis Fashion Archive Collection 01—vintage tennis wares and paraphernalia—now live, in time for the US Open; travel-y brand Les Vacances D’Irinia now on Net-a-Porter (hey, sailor!); the first swim capsule from Charlie Beads, a full-coverage top and bottom edit with a tank-and-mini-shorts perspective on modern bathing costumes; and some brilliantly oversized cashmere from Nour Hammour, including some sweaters that could also be minidresses with the right styling.

Men’s releases

• Roman Pell brings the heat for FW26, in the form of a cool-toned, fully imagined wardrobe. Designed unisex-y (there are pieces in both men’s and women’s size ranges), the most powerful styling opportunities surround the masculine: a pistachio grey-green twill mac coat, charcoal grey melange wool zip blouson, and wool pleated trouser don’t just work together as an outfit, but also propose independent nodes within one’s existing wardrobe.

• Studio Nicholson presents two new unisex leather jackets, the Bowe and Landau. As usual, the SN standard of fluid, clean lines with excellent (if not a bit funky) materials prevails. The Bowe is a zany mustard suede number with a silhouette resembling a slightly updated version of the classic Dash jacket, whereas the Landau has a patina-ed vintage leather and a slimmer frame.

Home releases

• Jil Sander x Thonet continue their furniture collaboration with a series of cantilever chairs fit for any design freak with a Knoll fetish. This particular seating takes a Cesca-style cantilever to a new level, in colors like this navy blue lacquered wood version, or a white oak version with the original caned webbing.

What’s on sale

Hi! Welcome back to High Touch. I think the first person I saw run a Prenuvo ad was Gabriella Karefa-Johnson? Memorable spon con from a fashion person back in 2023. Only after that did I learn Kim Kardashian had also done one, and only much later did I have any desire to do one myself. I’m lucky that my overall reaction to receiving my Prenuvo results was, “huh.”

Today, I write about my experience with the “influencer MRI,” share details on my 9 minor and 2 moderate findings, and answer some of the top questions I got when I offered up an AMA about the scan to my channels. The service is not uncontroversial, and the radiologist community reached out to me with pretty impassioned takes along the approval continuum. I, too, have my thoughts.

All that below, but first, what’s happening in the touchy, luxury, long-living world of High Touch…

A touch of High Touch

• Those interested in the aesthetics of aesthetics would be well-served to keep an eye on System, a peptide telehealth platform that’s drawing attention to its first-to-market moves like building out a 14,000-square-foot US-based compounding facility through enthralling video shorts such as “American Summer.” It’s hosting at dinner at Polo Bar this week to launch “Guided,” possibly a follow-up film project, possibly some other “bespoke brand experience.” It currently sells NAD+, glutathione, and topical Ghk-CU, among other FDA-approved compounds and is clearly throwing shoulders to carve out a top spot for when the barrage of sexier, hotly anticipated ‘tides (Reta, BPC-157, TB-500) get cleared, as they seem on track to be any week now.

• An entirely unexpected Magasin-High Touch crossover moment, the lingerie multi-brand store Journelle has pivoted to cosmetic services via JournelleSkin, its new clinic just off Washington Square Park. The platform where I once reliably shopped for strapless 32DD bras and other such intimate rarities now offers up Botox, Xerf, PFRN, and areola reconstruction. Truly the works.

• On the skincare-ish front: Skinceuticals’ industry-standard vitamin C, E, and ferulic patent lapsed, so it came out with a new-gen version with added Carnosine and Endophytol™; Dr. Diamond’s Metacine releases a plumping peptide lip product; new brand Tome launches with its BioNeedle treatment—a mask with microscopic spicules that enhance absorption; and Parëva rolls out an eye serum combining peptides, collagen fragments, growth factors, triple lipids, ceramides, multi-weight hyaluronic acids, and clinically studied botanicals.

Getting scanned

I hadn’t slept well the night before, only like 5 hours or something…I wasn’t consciously anxious about it but you know how these things go. A bit groggy and agitated, I took two propranolol pills that I keep in my medicine cabinet for blunting the edge on public speaking events. Beta blockers like propranolol were originally released as blood pressure medication and have since also been indicated by the FDA for social use cases like work presentations or, for me, welcome remarks at co-hosted dinners (lol). It turns out they are also appropriate for, uhhh, voluntary claustrophobic situations, needing to stay perfectly still inside a metal tube for an hour, etc.

Prenuvo’s clinic is a couple blocks from Penn Station, and it feels vaguely like a VC dental chain with light-wood paneling and internet furniture. I balked when the receptionist who checked me in asked me to pull from memory the name of the Netflix show or Spotify playlist I wanted to play while getting scanned. Who just knows that kind of thing! Especially the sedated throngs showing up at this front desk. I defaulted to Arrested Development.

What’s new

• For the initial FW26 e-comm drop from Khaite, it is their monkeys, and it is also their circus. It’s not the usual subdued edit from the brand, but in the best way: statements come in the monkey-embroidered Goya top, as well as the 18th and 19th century military-inspired York jackets, both the Italian double-faced crepe with gold cord embroidery, and the full leather version. Other favorites include the ostrich leather Colt Oxford-detail pumps, and the voluminous Adara skirt.

• Premium denim brand DL1961 teams up with Olympia of Greece for this exclusive collection at Moda Operandi. The Americana inspiration is apparent in the suede Maria jacket and plaid Addison shirt, especially (ironically) in the Canadian tuxedo setup of denim overshirt and slim mid-rise jeans.

• Is it just us or are the Jacquemus drops only getting better? The first pieces from the Le Palmier FW26 collection are now available online, including the rounded Ovalo short sleeve jacket, stretchy woven ballet flats ($650 is a great price for how much leather is involved), and confetti-patterned accessories, such as the Tourni sandals and Valerie clutch.

• J.Crew vintage just dropped online, and it’s so archive (both adjective and noun). There are over 200 pieces available for purchase online for the very first time, and the most exciting things contain multitudes, of colors (like this vintage ’90s striped sweater), and prints (like these plaid flannel lined chinos). Each piece is one of one, so best to move with intention.

• Chapter one of Doen’s FW26 is here, and it’s a less-is-more sampler of all the autumnal cozy to come. There’s the superfine alpaca and merino wool Petra cardigan, somewhere between fitted and boxy, and the stretchy, striped cotton Ginevra mock-neck. Plus, pointelle socks—because what the hell, 2016 is back, right?

• This new FW26 Aflalo might influence a major hair change to properly accessorize. The outerwear is deliciously textured: there’s the stringed Bodelle bomber (and a matching skirt WTF) and a fur-lined lambskin trench named Fovea…all work perfectly as statement pieces alongside the more streamlined underlayers, like the Elara cashmere sweater and Orwell jean (kinda like a cigarette jean). A recent visit to the showroom to really hammer home the point: How good are these?

• There’s also: the art deco-y arrival of the Enya wedge at Reformation, developed in collaboration with Enya Umanzor; the return of the handwoven metal tote at Casa shop; a very custom-knit AW26 from Suzie Kondi, scarves included; the pleasantly modern Polo Blaze bag from Ralph Lauren; Savette’s FW26 collection featuring the new, less structured version of the Symmetry bag; and HOFF x Nicklas Skovgaard’s soft nappa leather (and collapsible?) sneaker, the Bridge.

Men’s releases

• It’s Toteme’s first men’s collection, rejoice! It’s exactly what you’d expect and then some, like the zip leather jacket and the dot tie with a rich woven texture. The real X factor, however, comes in the men's versions of heritage pieces from the womenswear line like the robe coat and scarf peacoat, which look equally good sized for menswear metrics.

• Saint Laurent FW26 is now shoppable, and it strikes that balance of metrosexual club owner and traditional Parisian mime that’s oh-so Vaccarello. The brushed wool flannel pants are high-waisted and wide-legged; there are giant, cunty animal-free fur muffs. Instead of the usual horizontal stripes, we have these great vertical sateen-poplin shirts, just for a bit of that subverted mime.

• There’s also: New shirting from Camisas Manolo made to order from deadstock fabrics sourced from the brand’s recent tour in Japan; new brand on the block Cutler makes its debut with some seriously textile-forward knitwear (we can’t wait to try); and the unisexy, Tropicali-Spiccoli burnout steez that is Stüssy FW26 just dropped.

Home releases

• Nordic Knots launches two new rug textiles: canvas and savanna. All hand-loomed, the canvas textures range from flatweave to plush, with the softer melange touch. The savanna is a hand-knotted rug that combines wool with the toughness of jute (the dark jute and black is a favorite colorway).

• There’s also: Zara Home’s Lynchian home office collection (I mean, look at the manual calendar); and The Mark x Alessi exclusive corkscrew, a little Alessi-chrome guy dressed up in the signature The Mark stripes.

What’s on sale

• We’re at the final days of the Attersee sale, and it’s the actual-actual last call with a lot of past-past season pieces now among the fare—like the navy microcord skirt 50% off at $350. Other pieces, like the swing cotton poplin slub shirt, are up to 25% off at $750.

• There’s up to 70% off of Gucci at Italist, with accessories taking the biggest discounts. There are a lot of horsebit-detail shoulder bags near 50% off, like this orange one down to $2,371 from $5,058. A lot of the RTW involved is great occasionwear too, like this brown stretch viscose blend dress down to $2,043 from $3,583.

• There’s an extra 20% off sale at Banana Republic, which creates some pretty haul-worthy opportunities. The cotton poplin pieces like the drawstring top and viscose-linen bias-cut maxi skirt (some colors, like the pistachio green, get down to $40 from $160). Oh, and this vintage-inspired cotton ruched tank gets down to $13 from $50, fyi.

• There’s up to 25% off at Revival Rugs, with washable bestsellers and more unique pieces alike eligible for the discount. I liked my outfit for Daniella Kallmeyer and Allison Ross’ wedding this past weekend (catered by ETI, or as Lauren Sherman put it: “Laura Reilly’s husband). It came together under these circumstances:

1. The inner circle would no doubt be wearing Kallmeyer themselves—the bride’s namesake brand, a regular in these pages—best relinquish it lest I accidentally body double someone.

2. No direct competitors, obvi (Khaite and Colleen, otherwise good WGD options, were out).

3. As I told the Magasin Chat, I was looking at this Conner Ives backless, spotty dress and this Proenza twist-back gown, but liked different things about each of them. Another guest wore the Proenza in red…a narrow save.

4. Lo and behold, I find this past-season FW25 Dries van Noten dress on TRR that split the difference; the deep purple of the Proenza, the airy spots of the Ives. Two sizes too large, but actually that worked best for the vision. Its original fit was designed to hit mid-back, but worn low, the draped fabric around the waist formed a flouncy peplum and made it easy to integrate extra pinning and tucking to create a tailored fit.

5. [Sold out everywhere but related links include: the striped silk aubergine version, a similar B&W one-shoulder style, and a velvet cowl-y paisley dress of the same spirit, all Dries.]

6. Worn with Acne Studios webby-toe sandals and a raw silk Azi bag.

What was revealed at the wedding was more enlightening. The brides wore custom Kallmeyer (duh), two to three looks each throughout the night. And while Daniella’s fit-for-the-queen-of-the-LES-that-she-is gown stole the show, it was the cummerbund she designed for Allison that lingers with me. Cummerbunds for fall?

What’s new

• Liberowe PF26 is here, and the jackets have spoken (the fringe jackets say “swish, swish”). The London-based luxury brand has always had an outerwear focus—this season that tailoring ethos is translated into everything from silk slim fit trousers and coordinating bodice tops to chenille tweed skirts that, like the fringe jackets, also say “swish swish.”

• Cawley’s new arrivals for fall focus on the most autumnal of neutrals and neutral-adjacent shades. Some highlights: this aviator jacket in antique chocolate leather (with full sherpa lining), this Japanese cotton Dennis shirt with a rich brown-and-orange check pattern, and a playful knit bow hat in an orange-and-ivory striped merino wool.

• There are some new FW26 arrivals from Proenza Schouler now live, and they’re reminding us how much we love current CD Rachel Leigh Scott. Included in this first offering is outerwear like the riveted Alix coat, and runway favorites like the printed floral Bodine dress, and Donegal knit pieces like the fit and flare Capucine jacket.

• Our shoe diet will be balanced this fall, with the first glimpses of newness across the heel-flat continuum. The Jude PF26 collection expands on their ongoing study of peep-toe permutations with the icon pump in lacquer-like colors, such as this red patent leather. As for Hereu, the Aresta flat succinctly distills the pointy toe, moccasin, and slipper shapes into one leather stacked-heel shoe, while the Ralph Lauren Polo loafer is a similar hybrid of vintage ballet flats and men’s smoking slippers.

• Jimmy Choo may be more universally known in the luxury shoe universe, but these AW26 bags make a strong contribution to this season’s standout leather goods. The greatness of these handbags lies in the use of hardware as a subtle visual element as well as a necessary fastener, as evidenced by the Cinch, the wristlet-style Bon Bon, and the Bar holdall.

• Rier teams up with the Paris-based jewelry designer Zoé Mohm on a limited-quantity, moving-parts-heavy collection of hand-crafted sterling silver pieces. There’s a necklace made to look like a silver pinecone snaking around your neck, as well as mini drop earrings that mimic half-finished lanyards, and long, floral dangling earrings made of tiny clinking silver flowers.

What’s new

• The first chapter of Nour Hammour’s FW26 dropped just in time for the annual end-of-summer outerwear purchases (IYKYK). In this initial release, we have some new luxuriously textured shearling outerwear like the Mira Glamorous jacket, and some rich unlined lambskin versions of the Sylvie robe coat.

• Eckhaus Latta introduces AW26 with some pattern play and a whole lotta knits. Some of the most striking visual dynamism this season comes in the bull’s-eye polo, a long-sleeve with an olive-and-pink stripe motif making the shape of a diamond to frame the torso. Even the knits take on optical-illusion-level heights in the asymmetrical Henley collar on the roving pullover knit, and the tastefully multi-color stripes on the racer cardigan (very reminiscent of ’90s Gap).

• Khaite expands the Blake bag universe with three new shapes: the top handle, the nano (a less expensive option starting at $2,400), and an extra-long version of the original clutch. Each still possesses the same structured boxy bones and signature Empire hardware that made the original Blake want to start a family, so to speak. The price range similarly grows, with some exotic skins like the golden olive alligator available only at price upon request.

• COS launches AW26 with some serious swing. By that, we mean the bell-shaped shifts and hems meant to catch a breeze, like the scuba A-line mini and animal-jacquard midi dresses. Apart from frocks, there are some strong fluid silhouettes, like the merino wool mock-neck tank (the cobalt is excellent) and the aptly named fluid pleated straight-leg pants, which has the option of a matching suit jacket.

• You can now shop Nereja’s Drop 23, in case you’re craving some luxury upcycled outerwear. Among the fare are some stellar ’80’s square-shouldered wool coats, some even with fur collars. • Zara & Aaron Levine team up once again for this exclusive capsule built for some risky business, sans Tom Cruise. The collection makes ’80s power lunch aesthetic references through its suit separates (see: this wool-linen trouser-jacket setup) with touches of prep-school-privileged mirth in the bright green textured cable jumper it’s styled with. Dotted with zip-ups, plain tees, and retro leather sneakers, Levine and Zara show that ’80s prep will be to the 2020s what ’90s alt was to the 2010s.

• The Lisa Yang AW26 menswear collection is here, and cashmere is represented in a litany of menswear contexts, from structured double face trousers (the Parker) to softer, mid-weight crewneck sweaters (the Mason). Oh, and in case your ears and neck get chilly: a brushed cashmere balaclava and the Florianne knit bandana-style scarf.

• There’s some new lighting over at Lumens from a couple of Brooklyn-local brands that really know their way around a bulb, so to speak. Some pieces from designer Christopher Merchant’s work for Roll & Hill are available, like this ceramic table lamp, as well as fixtures like this bubble chandelier from Red Hook-based PELLE.

• Designer Han Seungmin presents his white picket chairs for sale at design incubator Lichen, and they are…made of stainless steel. A part of the designer’s ongoing White Picket Chair project, they’re inspired by the steel fences and gates found in NYC’s Asian and West Indian neighborhoods, representing the “white picket fence” ideal of the American Dream from the vantage of an immigrant family. Each chair doubles as an art piece and a functional seat which, for $1,600/per, is a good investment on a mindful concept.

What’s on sale

• The Tory Burch private sale begins now, offering an additional 15% off already marked down prices. Some favorites are the more distinctly TB items from past seasons of RTW, like this strapless floral sequined dress. As for accessories, we suggest going for fun colorways of icons like the Ella tote in this funky print.

• We’re at the beginning of the Reformation sale, and the copy at the top of the dedicated edit says it best: 30% off a bunch of cute stuff. The late-summer mania that makes me dress with abandon, tear my apartment apart, and avoid the West 4th Subway stop has set in, and I also blame it for my most recent purchase: a fringed OGBFF phone case, spotted on ’s IG story two days ago. It’s just that I need the experience of reaching for my phone, and it’s wearing this, and I am pulling it out of my Emily Dawn Long Urchin bag.

What’s new

• Last month, we established that everything is Dries now, which makes Dries AW26-27 super-Dries. The brand is all about unlikely combinations, which run free in these new arrivals: floral jacquard pants, pattern-blocked bustiers, and embroidered blazers all exist in intentionally clashed harmony. (We can’t wait for more of these pixelated-print pieces to be available.)

• The Tory Burch FW26 collection has arrived in a very matchy-matchy fashion. There’s a really good pairing—the embellished linen top and skirt set in a structured brown linen, the natural follow-up to the reissue of the crystal tunic—and a kinda questionable one—a matching lettuce-hem style striped flared skirt and floral-embellished tank that feels in the manner of Sharpay Evans. There are some fabulous shoes though, like the Reva punk travel ballet.

• We have first access to Toteme FW26, and this initial selection of pieces is just enough to whet the palate for future drops. The biggest standouts are the scarves—both on the naplack slingbacks and the fixed cable chain-wrapped accessories. Silhouette-wise, the gentle A-line from the crepe turtleneck tops and fold-over snap details on the Mercer leather tote add verve to the black-and-white offering.

• There’s also first access to Rohe’s FW26 range, with an emphasis on the tactile, for both the wearer and the admirers of their clothing. Take the double waistband trousers for example—a garment made to look like you’re wearing a white pair of high-waisted pants underneath a wider pair of black pants (genius). The outerwear is specifically fantastic, like the gorgeous rounded silhouette on this shearling jacket.

• Metier introduces us to the Tilt bag, a relaxed bucket-silhouette bag with a custom clasped handle and a funky, trapezoidal way of laying in both the hand and the arm’s crook. The Tilt is available in both a mini and medium silhouette, as well as five different colors of suede and ultralight calfskin.

• There’s also: exclusive access to Victoria de Piante’s FW26 collection, full of A-line silhouettes in a very ’60s persuasion; Lauren Manoogian’s AW26, full of long shawl cardigans and cap-sleeve dickeys; Leset’s citron-tinged FW26 drop; FW26 by Sophie Buhai, including a $3,700 dragonfly cigarette holder (!); two new Jamie Haller suede penny loafers, the regular in taupe and the unlined in smoke; and Cécred’s Restoring Lash & Brow Builder, a dedicated product for lashes and brows following up the viral edge drops.

Men’s releases

• Bode’s taking us to the rodeo. Aptly called the Bodeo collection, this just-landed offering is the stuff of true country culture—Western yoke shirting and all. While earmarked as womenswear, there’s a lot of quirky (and perhaps more successful) styling opportunities for the menswear category, like this fringe Appalachian jacket.

• Birkenstock and Seoul-based brand Adererror team up on this new iteration of the classic close-toe Boston, and it’s good. Adererror combines its multidisciplinary view into fashion (namely, through architecture) with the Birk silhouette for a Boston whose zig-zag embroidery and nubuck leather toecap take it from an undergrad dining hall staple to genuinely fashionable daywear.

Home releases

• Olive Ateliers is now dabbling in French art and tapestries, in case your home furnishings need something on the wall to tie in the rustic charm. A lot of the current run of tapestries has already sold out, but there are plenty of still-life paintings available, like this very kitchen-y piece depicting fresh produce, or this parlor-appropriate piece with soft bundles of lilac.

• There’s also: Round II of BENI x Flamingo Estate’s LA mythology-inspired wool rugs; and the Lanzarote-inspired sun-worn green homeware collection by Pascale Naessens, now available at Serax.

What’s on sale

• Long live 6397, truly the people’s mid-priced-luxury princess, and its a killer warehouse sale. A lot of pieces from one to two seasons ago are 40% off, like this pair of their signature colored acid-wash denim in a turmeric-like sunchoke wash, down to $210 from $350. Bigger discounts in the 50–60% off range fall on pieces like the high crew cardigan in chlorine, but have limited size availability.

• There’s an extra 20% off all sale at La Garçonne with AUGLG20, and it feels like a little summer’s end send-off. LG stocks some of the greatest sleeper brands in the contemporary/modern luxury retail space, and a lot of product from said brands is on sale, like the Giulia cotton jacket in grey check from Bergfabel (down to $864 after the extra discount) and Setchu origami polo shirt, discounted to $473 from $740.

• Mirror Palais is known to be rather cards-to-chest, and this archive sale opens a prism into the brand’s lesser-known ouvre. Aka, it’s a BTS sale where items from past photoshoots or development are sold to the public at proper archive sale prices—like the Opera lady in pearl sample priced at $600, whereas the retail version went for $1,495.

• Renggli has an archive sale on, where basics come to be reborn. In preparation for fall, look to the cashmere long sleeve polo and tailored trouser, both 40% off. In the spirit of our final orange creamsicles of the season, there’s the terry crewneck sweatshirt and shorts in peach, each 70% off.

• There’s also: 25% off NikeSKIMS, from skort to tabi; up to 50% off Araks swimwear and some lingerie, like the Yanelis bralette in hibiscus; what Mejuri calls the “sale of the summer,” a semi-blowout including these lab-grown baguette-cut sapphires; the “final few” sale at Gardenheir (some cotton moleskin pieces are 25% off); and 30% off at the CUUP swim sale, benefitting one and two pieces alike.

Home sales

• It’s the CB2 August sale, and discounts span the gamut. Some of the best deals are in the lighting department, like the Abryn textured glass wall sconce at 30% off. Certain colors of specific items are also discounted accordingly, like the extra large Playa faux ball priced at $60 from an original $130 for the travertine colorway, whereas the black terrazzo is $100.

• There’s also: 60% off a minimalist, marble-heavy Studio Nordhaven archive; and the liquidation sale from REI SoHo (yes, the one in the Puck building) is underway on…Facebook Marketplace.

First up…

• Le Sirenuse, one of the best places I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying, celebrated its 75th this year. Even if you haven’t visited, you should get the hand-painted ashtray.

• My screenshots folder is full of Instagram caps from my more aesthetically attuned friends’ holidays—sort of a crowd-sourced reference library. I saw Beverly Nguyen of Beverly’s 1975 shopping at the dream store Seghezzo in Ste. Margherita Ligure, and caught filmmaker Nora Delighter buying vintage buoys from Maine, no doubt swept away in the cold, briny tide of New England coastal romance. I also spoke to “NYC’s toughest doorman” Frankie Carattini about the covetable ashtray he brought home from the Hotel Corazon in Mallorca, which has a pretty fabulous shop. As he rightly put it, it must be a rare and special ashtray to retail for above $100, but there’s no better feeling than being so taken by a place that you must take it back with you. For my part, I’ve picked up a few gems this summer: a silver art deco champagne bucket from a brocante in Nice, a large hand-turned wooden salad bowl from Vermont, and a small tiled planter from Begur in the Costa Brava.

Souvenirs of summer

Who doesn’t love to grab a little piece of a summer holiday and bring it back home? It’s a reminder of that summer feeling—momentarily bringing you to a childhood place of freedom, carelessness, and wild, hot fun. The objects that I find most compelling have succeeded in capturing the essence of summer—that 6 p.m. golden haze (like this rug from Beni), the sensation of surrendering to slowness (seaglass and rope bracelets from Levant), the symphony of insects and creatures in the brush (these Laguna B glasses are what I think that sound looks like), or the prickly warmth of saltwater drying on your skin (this Essenzialmente Laura perfume smells exactly like it).

Sometimes that’s a straightforward proposition, like in the case of the ceramic dolphin light fixtures at Malta’s new jewel Casa Bonavita, which fit nicely in a carry-on, or the quilted coverlets at Salt Water Farm that ensure a cosy, deep sleep on cool Maine nights. (Here are some alternative options from Toast, Williams-Sonoma, and Magniberg, all of which could take a turn as a picnic blanket.) After a stay at the exquisitely furnished Finca Victoria in Spain earlier this year, I’m seeking a literal reminder of my time by the sea in the form of a model sailboat to place in front of a picture window.

More often than not, your summer crushes simply won’t fit in a suitcase and you have to leave them at the beach, like the exuberantly clashing sun loungers at Casa Lawa in Sicily (I believe the fabric is Dedar) or the swirled Murano glass flush mount lights firmly affixed to the ceiling at Villa Magnan in Biarritz.

In that case, the best you can do is hold on to the concept, understand why it was successful, and try to imagine it in the context of your real life. As an example, let’s take window dressings: Often the best summer places don’t have air conditioning, and in the heat of July you want to tempt in any wayward breeze with windows flung open. A rented cottage at Sea Ranch in Northern California had no-nonsense roll up bamboo shades which, like everything at Sea Ranch, perfectly complemented the landscape. At Inness in Upstate NY, the curtains are hung from two pegs on either side of the window with a helpful drapery wand to help you hook them back. A brilliantly casual solution.

At the Hotel Cezar, which overlooks the eastern Atlantic on the hot, windswept island of Lanzarote, a simple linen valence is hung above the windows to help frame the view while filling the awkward space between the window frame and the ceiling. I would opt to have my local tailor whip this up from the fabric of my choosing, but a quick and cheap solution is available on Amazon.

Each year, after 3 months of spending every possible minute outdoors, I always think that some of the summer outdoor furniture could live just as nicely inside year-round. I find much of our common outdoor furniture to have pleasing silhouettes: Consider the sling beach chair, with its elegant drape. (Side note: For the big spenders out there, Loro Piana is now selling the sling chairs that I saw on the beach next to the Hotel Augustus in Forte dei Marmi a couple of years ago for $5,300 each.)

Or, take the infamous monobloc chair in its infinite varieties. In the right context, it would be an incredible dining set. Chic and simple outdoor furniture is inherently cool, confidently uncomplicated. My ideal outdoor table is the narrow, collapsible model that was set up outside the ultra glamorous alpine hotel Chesa Grischuna (look into who has stayed there and you’ll get it) in Klosters, which the Germans invented for biergartens. I can’t resist a good folding director’s chair. Some of these pieces are surprisingly delicate in form—but in a sporty way that reminds me of my favorite beach clubs, like this leather and aluminum Italian recliner, this metal and teak chair/footstool set, and this indoor/outdoor bamboo loveseat (the frame is reminiscent of the lightweight upholstered bamboo furniture at Beit Trad in the hills above Beirut).

Alessandro Moriconi, the designer behind the transporting Belmond Castello di Casole, explained the importance of detail in expressing an essence, as evidenced by his favorite piece from that hotel: a rare sculptural stainless steel vase (similar pieces here and here on 1stDibs). As he put it, “I have always been drawn to objects that don't ask for attention, yet quietly transform a room. This vase belongs to that rare category. Formed from a single folded sheet of metal, its beauty lies in restraint rather than ornament. It doesn't frame the flower, it completes it. To me, the most enduring objects are those that leave enough space for light, shadow, and seasonality to become part of their composition. It stayed with me long after I left, and eventually found its way into the interiors of our hospitality project at Belmond Castello di Casole—a reminder that the best discoveries rarely remain souvenirs, they become part of your own visual language.”

Glad I bought them the second I spotted them, because The Row Caden loafers are en route to selling out (especially in the exclusive dark brown color). They’ve already made their way onto rare-fashion scouting platform Sourcewhere’s radar.

I was thinking about Sourcewhere last night as I was scrolling The RealReal, contemplating Chanel bags on resale. When I ran into Sourcewhere’s founder Erica Wright in Paris this spring, just as the Blazy collection first dropped, her network was on fire grabbing up bags and shoes I wasn’t even able to get an SA to show me in the store (I have no pull there, I buy all my Chanel secondhand).

If you’re shopping for Blazy-Chanel, Sourcewhere is a good place to look. If you want a vintage piece from Blazy’s reference archive, there are a healthy handful of Karl-era Cerf Bags on TRR for under $3.5k—the Blazy Shopping Bag (resale price $12k) borrows its shape. This one’s down to $2,275. This one’s $2,200. I’ve ben seeing these out in the wild more lately, and now I know why. Also I just put it together that Chanel Cerf = channel surf? Maybe?

More out-of-order thoughts on fall bags:

• Chanel oyster minaudiere, POA, but Simkhai oyster minaudiere…$395, if it’s not too unseasonal for fall’s suede and cashmere

• Will everyone keep wearing their new-to-them-vintage Hermès Garden Parties when it’s no longer garden party season? (The answer is “probably yes” since you can find them for under $1k or close to it if you shop around and think every bag should look like Mary-Kate’s Balenciaga)

• I have a hunch people started buying their new-to-them-vintage Garden Parties after The Row released its $1,750 Garden Party-esque canvas Sisal

• Relatedly, I love my Marlo 12 but the best Marlo I’ve ever seen was my friend Juliana’s all-canvas Marlo 17 that I watched her hold over her head and carry onto a boat in the Caribbean

• If you’re going to do leather, it should be shiny (see: The Row Caden loafers)—don’t fall for pebbled

• The Tibi x L.L.Bean Boat-and-Tote may be the best improvement on the OG out there yet, and it’s back on TRR, for 150% of its original retail price

• Going bagless is always an option. I was at the Kallmeyer studio googoo-gagaing their coming-soon vintage Prada-esque leather (very shiny!) purses, when Daniella told me they’re kind of ironic, because she rarely wears a bag herself

• Actually, since we’re on the topic, Kallmeyer might make the best canvas bag of them all—smugly large and unapologetically high-maintenance as far as canvas bags go, screams “someone bring me a convertible in which to throw this in the rear seat!” A lot of words for a couple panels of cotton and skinny straps that you’ll definitely stuff with 2+ hair tools for an overnight upstate trip

What’s new

• Alex Mill’s August Collection campaign was shot along a familiar stretch of Rue de Rivoli, with friends of the brand Alice Pilate and Jeanne Ducouraru embodying American-in-Paris loucheness: poplin sets, coordinated jersey separates, cashmere polos capped off by party flats. Eaaaasy, easy pieces so primed for fall that I can’t believe this is the same block I spent France’s record-breaking heat wave this June.

• Aflalo’s High Summer 26 collection is now shoppable, and it packs a serious low-cut punch. Everything from the cobalt Ceslestia dress in plissé to the viscose silk Audra jacket is easy and lightweight without sacrificing any high-fashion sensibility. The standout looks involve the Lolana pant or Bromer short (essentially silk bermudas…genius) and one of the many tiny tops, like the (tastefully) midriff-baring Reysa.

• Rachel Comey’s FW26 collection is basically grape-flavored, with a statement color palette recalling the original “Joker” comics or the inside of a fig. There are a lot of great knits in this winey colorway, like the V-neck Slate pullover and Matin cardigan, as well as the green-grapey grain de poudre Kassel blazer—imagine layering them! Hardware details get a little kinky in the best hard-soft way, with the riveted Vega vest and Alix skirt, and even a studded collar (?) for your inner freak on a leash.

• We’ve got the FW26 range from High Sport, and you heard it here first: the non-summer equivalent for French lycra hibiscus-print-everything is straight candy striper. The classic Kick pant is now available in an ivory/red seersucker, as well as the Sara top if you want the full set. There are also Ziggy Stardust-y prints, like the cosmic paisley and viscose fringe dress dotted with little pink stars.

• Still Here’s new 11 Jean: Described as a “sleek and feminine” fit, the 11 is a low-rise style featuring a slimmer straight leg, with the same minimal belt loop-less button waist as the Sport jean. It has a 34” (!) inseam with zippers at the hem so you can tailor the leg shape to each outfit.

I know this is (mostly) a fashion shopping newsletter, but summer is not a time for caring about clothes. I can tell it’s August, canonically the end of the season for pessimists (I otherwise love summer), because checking the new-in pages of retailers for reportable arrivals—these quilted Dries scarves, snake sneakers, this Liberowe fringe jacket, The Row Dahlia bag I might sincerely have to also buy in black now that it’s back!—is filling me with urgency and passion. It is fall out there!!! And because I have the shopping memory of a goldfish, it feels absolutely brand new like no fall has ever felt before.

The most life-changing of all of these positive transformations to the material universe is so because it has left the screen and come into my life: The Row’s Caden leather loafers.

As blanket-soft as I’ve come to demand from leather shoes (the pliability found in Martinianos), with the shininess that bounces light off and draws the eye down to the tips of one’s toes, completing the visual length of an outfit (why I often wear white shoes). • Liffner just opened up pre-access to their AW26 collection. There are some seasonal iterations of classics like the pushlock pouch done up in chartreuse crushed velvet, as well as a new belted shoulder bag in burgundy croc. Most exciting, perhaps, is the small charm bucket bag, also in croc-embossed leather and sub-$1k.

• In the 1920s, hems shortened, and in the 2020s, toe boxes lengthened—at least in the case of Jamie Haller’s new slippers. Hi! Welcome back to High Touch. Today I’m writing about one of the other tabs that’s always open on my browser, in addition to this one and the MyTheresa new-in page: the Claude chat where I store all of my health and aesthetics data.

To quote a stat from memory, personal health is one of the fastest growing uses for LLMs, and companies like OpenAI and Anthropic are investing heavily in their biology teams. But in an informal survey I conducted via texts to friends, only one in nine is using AI in this way. Below is how I use it. Not necessarily the best way or the right way, just a case study of one such approach.

But first, thoughts and feelings from the High Touch universe.

• Allergan Aesthetics, maker of Botox (the official brand), introduced a new fast-onset, short-term neuromodulator called Boey, which just got approved for use in Europe. Visible in as little as eight hours, lasts as long as three weeks. Think of it as an event-prep treatment, if you can’t wait the typical 5-7 day period for traditional ‘tox to kick in. Not yet FDA-approved, but already available in some clinics in the US if you know where to look.

• Paging ! Casio (yes) launches a…ring watch that can track heart rate, blood oxygen, and sleep, record running, walking, and cycling workouts, and follows menstrual cycles. It costs $294 and is currently only available in China.

My routine used to consist of taking Nutrafol and getting botox a few times a year. As my protocol became more informed and complex, my management system needed to be more sophisticated, too.

It started after my Zoï medical review (a French luxury health check-up, I documented my visit and data previously for High Touch). There were minerals I was supposed to take in the mornings while fasted, and others I was to take with food, hours away from other prescribed micronutrients. There were supplement courses that lasted weeks, others months, and others indefinitely. Some on alternating days, some only on weekdays, some only on the first of the month, some only during certain days of my cycle. I was advised to schedule specialist appointments and follow-up bloodwork over staggered time frames.

I organized this info into a Google Doc that was part visual pill organizer, part wall calendar. This worked fine for a while.

Six months later, I signed up for Function Health, an out-of-pocket biometrics platform with group-negotiated pricing, and ran an additional 153 biomarker tests. Results started to trickle into my Function app’s data tab, and then the full panel was in—including a new suite of supplement recommendations, each with their own rules. Now all together, I had pages upon pages of health documents from Function, Zoï, self-purchased Quest labs, and years of annual physicals. Not just bloodwork and urinalysis, but DEXA scans, oral swabs, InBody scores, bio-ages, autonomic readings, etc.

The numbers were siloed and not speaking to each other, just sitting in a folder on my laptop.

If everyone in 2026 is a coder, I am a luddite. And yet, I turned to Claude. I had it code me an artifact that could ingest, preserve, and demystify my entire medical records and dynamic treatment plan. What it created was a single, self-contained HTML file where all of my data is stored, which I keep open in a Claude tab on my browser.

• 6397 stays cooking up some really interesting approaches to a “wearable” wardrobe, and this new season drop is no different. Standouts are the more modular pieces, like the sage green-grey Shaker vest with a scoop neck that presents both opportunities for fun layering and solo-styling as a knit top. Then there’s the flight jacket in cinnamon, which can go prep buttoned all the way up, or greaser worn unzipped.

• Big week in scents across the high-low price spectrum. Gap Beauty is officially back with fragrance for the first time since the ’90s. The five flagship scents, which span fresh and clean (Grass) to warm and woody (Om) make it hard to choose, so we recommend the discovery set to see which speaks to you. On the luxury front, Byredo’s Future Memories Eau de Parfum made by master perfumer Quentin Bisch is here, a reportedly “high-intensity” amber-y unisex fragrance.

• There’s also: The return of the prodigal daughter aka The Row Dalia bag; a debut bridal collection from fashion’s favorite goth Dilara Findikoglu; a how-to guide on dressing in head-to-toe khaki, ink-blue, and java-brown from the Ruti monochrome edit; COS’s prep-modern new collection (featuring both a satin ballet flat and sneaker); and a funky suite of ‘90s bias mini skirts from indie darling Charlie Beads.

• Canada-based studio Huey has teamed up with Lulu & Georgia for an exclusive lighting collection based on the warmth and texture of a Parisian apartment. Fare includes everything from romantic pendant lights suspended by brass chains to fluted wood column floor lamps, with some fun pleated shade sconces in between.
